Well didn't this take a hell of a long time to finally come out!?!

I've been waiting to see this for a long time, and now its finally available. The main reason is, I always liked Kelsey Grammar and since I was a fan of the original Sketch Show, I always like Lee Mack.

I knew it was going to be based on the British version, but I didn't know it was simply going to BE the british version with American actors!
All the sketches were the same ones written by the Brits - the Astronaut who loses his keys, "[i:31666ec89d]All The Leaves are brown, All The Leaves are brown, And The Sky Is Grey, All The Leaves are brown...[/i:31666ec89d], the f-person bicycle on the bridge, [i]Do you have a room for two Knights? etc, etc..

Also, I can pretty much say that this show won't be coming to Australia, basically because we've already seen it!

Nonetheless, I will contine to watch because you can't get the Sketch Show on DVD yet, and as I said I was a fan of Lee and Kelsey.

One good thing to come from it, was seeing Mary-Lynn Rajksub (Chloe) from season 3 of 24. She was delighftul in it and made it a real treat, despite knowing everything that was going to happen.

Only six episodes in season 1... definatly won't see it unless more episodes are made in a second season. No word if its been perminantly canned.

Yep, no surprises there. Its just photocopy thats been coloured in by Americans.

The other thing is that this is pretty much the only type of comedy Americans simply don't seem to get. As popular as MAD and Saturday night Live are, there's pretty much nothing else in the American TV industry that is based on sketch comedy - which is extremely bizarre with all the sitcoms they dish out year after year.

Sketch comedy I've found is very hit and miss. There are few that actually hit the right notes all the time, and it depends on who is involved.
When there are a few already working, I think its a tough idea to try and introduce more. Even in Australia, it really is hard to get off the ground.

I think it depends on how much time is spent plugging one gag.

Many sketch shows often have running gags; for instance, when Micallef did Fabio every week, when Mike Myers did Wayne's World, and even Tim Vine did the Eagle sketch on the moon a dozen times.

The sad thing about the unfunny skithouse is that they keep plugging the same [i:163787e56f]terrible[/i:163787e56f] sketches. The Australian Fast bowler wasn't funny the first time, why on Earth would it be funny the 50th time!?

I watched it today and it is basically a copy of the british one....but I'll still watch it because it is often funny and Lee Mack is in it as well as Mary-Lynn (Chloe from 24) ....I ound it funny when she said "I suck at computers" in one of the sketches.... :D
