RUSSELL BRAND’S PONDERLAND
Australian Television Premiere –
Exclusive to Seven
(March 9, 2009): On the eve of Russell Brand’s first Australian performances, Channel Seven today announced it has acquired his BAFTA-nominated television series, Ponderland.
‘Russell Brand’s Ponderland’, coming soon to Seven, is freeform comedy at its best – an inspired mix of stand-up, nostalgia and archival TV footage that’s quite unlike anything else on tv today.
Each episode tackles a different topic – from love, family and pets, to holidays, crime and sport – as Russell muses on changing attitudes and behaviour in his inimitable outrageous and irreverent style.
Hailed by TIME OUT as "The most exciting comedian of his generation", Brand is best known for his scene-stealing performance as British rock star Aldous Snow in Judd Apatow’s, ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’. More recently he starred alongside Adam Sandler and Australia’s Teresa Palmer in ‘Bedtime Stories’.
Brand will reprise his role as Snow in the new Apatow film, ‘Get Him To The Greek’, and stars with Dame Helen Mirren in the forthcoming big screen adaptation of Shakespeare’s, ‘The Tempest’.
Brand brings his sell-out UK stand-up tour, “Scandalous”, to Sydney and Melbourne next week. [/quote:93a749faee]

I only know him from Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Bedtime Stories, but he was freaking funny as in those, so I'll probably tune in.

I'm a tad surprised that C7 would take this on.

I download Ponderland and can't see it being aired here without a LOT of censoring.

Me too! There is going to be a lot of re-editing needed :)

I still find it a bit strange to see him in movies so much these days! Ahh but only 11 days until I see him in Melbourne :)

I'm surprised people still haven't heard of Russell brand and all the stuff he has done, he has been around for years being absolutely mental. He has had 3 seasons of his own show and I think the 4th is on right now , he has been on the US late night shows alot over the past year or so and if you didn't hear of his and Jonathan Ross' prank call to Andrew Sachs you must have been living under a rock, inside a cave, in the middle of nowhere.

He is mental ! (that's a good thing BTW)

He's definitely got a "face for the radio" as they say.
His face and facial expressions really irritate me. :eh:

Another unfunny "Jackass". Saw him interviewed by Sammy on Sunrise yesterday and I will go to my grave believing he was on something.
