[quote36][size=1836]'Anarchy' in the USA for FX[/size36]

FX is going for a ride.

The cable network has ordered a drama series called "Sons of Anarchy," which centers on an outlaw biker club. The show, created by "The Shield" veteran Kurt Sutter, is scheduled to premiere in the fall.

The show stars Charlie Hunnam ("Children of Men," "Undeclared") as Jax Teller, a member of the titular club who loves its brotherhood but is concerned about the Sons' illegal activities. Katey Sagal ("Married ... with Children," "Futurama") also stars as Jax's mom, who's married to the club's president. Drea de Matteo ("The Sopranos") and Maggie Siff ("Mad Men") are also in the cast.

As a backdrop, the show will also examine the club's efforts to protect its home of Charming, Calif., from encroaching suburbanization.

Producers Art ("Fight Club," "Fast Times at Ridgemont High") and John Linson ("Lords of Dogtown") brought the idea to FX and will executive produce "Sons of Anarchy" with Sutter, who has been with "The Shield" since its first season, and James Parriott.

"We thank Art and John Linson for coming to FX with a great, untapped arena for a drama series," FX chief John Landgraf says. "Kurt Sutter took their notion and created a fiercely entertaining and authentic series. We think our viewers will welcome the Sons of Anarchy into their lives as they say farewell to 'The Shield' during its last great season."

"Sons of Anarchy" is one of two shows about bikers in the works. HBO is developing a show called "1%" from "The Player" writer Michael Tolkin. [/quote36]

This sounds good, another show to add to FX's already impressive line up.

[quote:6578384420][b:6578384420]Ron Perlman Leads 'Sons of Anarchy'[/b:6578384420]

"Hellboy" star Ron Perlman will raise a little more hell for FX -- and he won't need massive amounts of makeup to do so.

Perlman has joined the cable network's series "Sons of Anarchy," where he'll play the leader of an outlaw motorcycle club, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show is scheduled to premiere in the fall.

"Sons of Anarchy" centers on the title motorcycle club's efforts to protect their small town from outside elements, including drug dealers and real-estate developers. Charlie Hunnam ("Children of Men") stars as a young member of the club whose affection for it comes in conflict with his concern over some of its actions.

Katey Sagal ("Married ... with Children," "Eli Stone") plays Hunnam's mother, and Perlman will play his stepfather. Scott Glenn played the role in the show's pilot, but after the show opted to cast itself as more of a dark comedy, Perlman was brought in.

Prior to "Hellboy," Perlman was best known for the CBS series "Beauty and the Beast." His credits also include "Blade II," "Alien: Resurrection" and a host of voice-over roles. He'll next be seen in "Hellboy II: The Golden Army," which hits theaters in July.[/quote:6578384420]

I have it downloaded but wont get to it til next week when i start holidays.

I am looking forward to seeing Katey Segal and Maggie Siff in new roles. But i have read that the show is very dark and the characters unlikable to the extreme.

I think this show will be like many other darker shows. I will download all the episodes and watch closely together when i find myself with a spare weekend.

I love Katey's work. I want her to do more work on Eli Stone...so i hope this show doesn't stand in the way of that ;)

She was on Eli Stone too? You'd think she wouldve had enough of legal shows after that wierd character she played on Boston Legal - took me months to get over that role, couldnt look at Peg Bundy the same way again.

lol, she played a founding partner of the firm (along with Victor Garber's character). It was a great role and I felt it has potential for more appearances.

Sounds fine by me.

But I won't bother with it until The Shield finishes up.

One dark drama at a time will do.
