Premieres tonight on ABC1 at 8:30. Cant wait for this new drama looks really good :).

[quote:077d6fafc3]ABC TV's Seachange captured the imaginations and hearts of Australia's viewing public. It was written and produced by Deb Cox and is widely remembered with great affection. This Sunday, her new six-part drama begins, called East of Everything. Shot in Byron Bay, it tells the story of two brothers (Richard Roxburgh and Tom Long) reunited in the shadow of their mother's death.[/quote:077d6fafc3]

30 minutes in here and it's a bit lame to me.

You can only do the "Man/Woman's parent dies so he moves back to his childhood town where he catches up with his estranged sibling(s), his old high school sweet heart, and assorted quirky small town characters" thing so many times before it gets mundane. Although to be fair this show does seem to be more drama focused than most of the variants of the genre.
Modest to the top.

 I fell asleep :(. I hope it gets repeated on ABC2. For the bits i did catch, there was a good mix of humour and drama.

Rich, you can download the "vodcast" (in either WMV/MP4 format) from the EoE website (which is what I did :)). I doubt that ABC2 will be screening the series anytime soon though. (have they even gotten around to screening Summer Heights High yet?)

In regard to the pilot episode... while the premise of the series is indeed a tad overdone, I thought it was well executed. Vance's performance was horrible though. Granted his behaviour is supposed to be childish, but did he really have to act so child[i:b082076248]like[/i:b082076248]? :shifty:

In short, I liked it and I shall be watching the rest of the series. Do I like it enough to buy the DVD? Can't say. :P

And am I the only one who thought Richard Roxburgh beared a freakish resemblance to Grant Bowler?
