I miss this show, and these types of shows.
Anyone else? This show just rocked. I always wanted to be like Ali, one of the many middle children. She was so great and witty.

Yeah it was great on 7, one of the hits of summer and i think (my memory is hazy :P) regular ratings year viewing. I do remember it had a run on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday nights (not all in the same week... but the different periods 7 would air it)

Channel 9 got the rights to the last 2 seasons and played them out on week day afternoons around 99/2000 (the show was pretty much downhill around then.... no Cody = me no likey :P).

Foxtel played the show on FOX 8 for a bit around 2001/2002 aswell, i loved seeing the older episodes (well from season 2/3 onwards, where Carol's sister + the salon weren't featured as much in the show).

I thought Cody was the best character (Sasha Mitchell rocks.. loved him in the Kickboxer movies :D) - had some of the best lines

"Different people see things different ways...... although i've never met anyone that see's things my way"

There were a few others, one where he recounted the time he swore he was born, it was gold!

i loved it!!!! the girl out of it is in the new paris hilton movie- the hottie and the nottie.

Anyway how can you top Suzanne Somers and Patrick Duffy. Like alot of people I am obsessed with the opening theme song! Especially the rollercoaster bit. Every now and again I check out the opening theme on youtube- brings back kitschy 90s nostalgic memories. :D

Loved these family shows from the 80s and 90s- it seems like everybody does but yet I don't know if they'd work now.

Well he was in Dallas too.

Anyone here remember Valerie? It had a young Jason Bateman and is one of my favorite sitcoms from the late 80's/early 90's.

omg valerie!!! I never saw it but i always hear about it on shows and in pop culture references because of all the name changes the show had.

It first was Valerie and then Valerie's Family: The Hogans and then it was The Hogan Family. How funny and confusing!!! It's always risky naming a show after one character because then if they go it is all over really. That's what happened here - the lady who played Valerie left the show so they had to rename it.

I think Valerie left after a handful of episodes IIRC. Had a great "hokey" theme song as well!

You're not following the discussion, LMMS,

"Valerie" was a similar family comedy that was on TV around the same years - early 90's.

They were just comparing "Step by Step" with other family comedies. :P
