Starting soon on Channel 10 and Foxtel is the Australian version of Gogglebox.

My first issue that it is being promoted so much that I suspect it will be rubbish. I have always found that if something is promoted way way too much then it ends up being garbage.

I have watch one episode of the English version and it appears that they have cameras setup in people's houses and they are told what program the have to watch and we see them watching them watching the program. It also appears that they cannot see the cameras are turned on.

From what I have seen I will probably watch the first episode but that will be it ...

Just be warned if you watch the video you may need an interpreter ;) :P

It seems to do well in UK.

The ads on foxtel really turn me off as all can gather from them is I am being asked to watch a bunch of fat, grubby looking, bogans slobbing around on their couches, making lame arsed comments about something on tv. It actually offends me, unlike some shows' ads that just make me not want to watch. :?

I wonder if it's only ch10 shows they watch or do they get to have a crack at other channels.
I know I'd love to point out what sh*t the Block is. :X

If it is anything like the UK version they watch shows on all channels ... and if memory serves me it will start to be shown on Foxtel before it gets to Channel 10 so there could be a mix of shows.

If it does turn out that they will only be watching Channel 10 shows then that will end very very quickly.

Haven't been here in ages, but I had comment because I would love to see this--and I'll look to see if anyone throws it up on YouTube.

When I first heard this idea--you know, watching other people looking at TV, I thought it sounded so boring and I thought I'd never watch. But there are American and Canadian versions of this, and those are called The People's Couch and The People's Couch Canada. I looked at some of them on YouTube and I really did get a laugh out of them. Checked out the UK version, Gogglebox, and I liked that, too. Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I just think it's funny. Stupid, but funny. Can't wait to see the Australian version.

Why hello stranger ... long time no see :)

The UK version can be found on YouTube and it does look interesting but whether I will watch all episodes is yet to be seen

I have done my duty and watched ep1.

The "posh looking, older couple" were mildly entertaining and some of the dogs were cute, but the rest of them ... ugh. That fat woman ... and the family with 2 teenage girls cuddling up on the sofa with mum and dad?
And the worst thing ... the feet. Shudder. Ugly feet everywhere. :X

Won't be back - got boring very quickly.

oh yeah, I forgot it started tonight on the Lifestyle Channel.

Sounded like what I expected it to be - boring!

Looks like I wont be tuning into Ten tomorrow night to watch this episode.

Well, as predicted the Australian version is crap ... I lasted about 15 minutes ...

It will be interesting to see if the episode that appears on Channel 10 tonight will be a repeat of the one on Foxtel last night.
