i thought it was a good enjoyable telecast.

I think Billy Crystal did a good, SAFE job. He's opening sequance was good.

As for the main winners, it was predictable, but am happy for the wins, to the Artist, Christopher Plummer, Meryl Streep and the lady from The Help.

9th hosting job for Billy Crystal, so he's sure to get his 10th (probably next year). I think I would like the next host/s to be younger too. Hated how they managed to squeeze Justin Bieber into the coverage of a glamorous event.

The guy sang at loving Wembley where all the legends sang, so I shouldn't be surprised.

I know I've been very positive about the Oscar telecast, but if I had to pick one flaw it would definitely be the Justin Bieber thing.

Had a look at the winner's list. Quite pleased with the results.

I'm a big fan of the best picture winner. :)

Glad to see Cate and Matthew win respectively. So happy Frozen and Let it Go won also. Wasn't surprised that 12 Years a Slave won Best Picture either. Gravity picked up a tonne of awards for the production side of things and Globes favourite American Hustle failed to pick up anything it seems.

Overall it was a great night (day here) of tv. Ellen was great as host and also broke twitter retweeting records with over 3m retweets of a tweet and still counting i believe. Crazy. It could have been shorter though. It seemed to go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

the Academy Awards are on tomorrow. It will air live on Channel Nine at 12.30pm (and repeated later on at 9.55pm).

It will be hosted by Chris Rock.

Will Leonardo DiCaprio finally win his award? He's run most of the pre-Oscars Awards, so his chances of winning is high.

I'll be watching some of the awards live at work

the Academy Awards are on THIS Monday. Live on Channel Nine at 12.30pm AEDT (to be repeated on Gem later that night).

There are several Australian cast and crew that are nominated at the awards, for Hacksaw Ridge and Lion. Also nominated is the Indigenous film, Tanna, for Best Foreign Film - the first time an Australian film has been nominated in this category.

I am looking forward to the Oscars this time around :)
