Oh yeah, though I reckon Bale's Batman would baulk at the flying heads!

That being said, the JLU cartoon had something of a 'thing' going on between them :D

Worst Previews wrote:Jennifer Love Hewitt Fighting to Get "Wonder Woman" Role

Last year, actress Jennifer Love Hewitt revealed that she badly wants to play Wonder Woman in a big screen adaptation, pointing out that she's curvaceous, athletic, and gold bracelets look great on her wrists.

Hewitt now tells MSN that she's fighting "hard" to land the role and admits that she is "obsessed" with playing the heroine. And while many other actresses have been rumored for the part, including Megan Fox, Eliza Dushku, Sandra Bullock and Beyonce, Hewitt has been pleading with Warner Bros to hire her.

"I'm fighting so hard," she said. "I think Warner Bros is getting ready to make Wonder Woman and I really want to play Wonder Woman. I am obsessed with Wonder Woman."

The studio has already announced a "Wonder Woman" movie, but has yet to set any writers, actors, or a release date.

actually an excellent choice to play Wonder Woman. Never thought about Jennifer Love Hewitt for the part. I think she'd be great actually.

I don't know if JLH has the right body type or physique for the character.

Worst Previews wrote:"Wonder Woman" Searching for Female Director

There has been a trend in Hollywood that major franchises like "Godzilla," "Guardians of the Galaxy," "The Amazing Spider-Man," "Jurassic World," "Thor: The Dark World," and many others are being handed over to directors who have very short resumes. The other thing all these directors have in common is that they are all men.

Almost every major studio has been criticized for not hiring more female directors, and now comes word that Warner Bros is searching for a woman to helm its upcoming "Wonder Woman" film.

There aren't that many women who've handled major action films, except for Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) and Lexi Alexander (Punisher: War Zone). At one point, Marvel wanted Patty Jenkins (Monster) to direct "Thor: The Dark World," but then quickly decided to go with Alan Taylor, who was known for directing only a few episodes of "Game of Thrones" and "The Sopranos."

"Wonder Woman" is set to hit theaters on June 23rd, 2017 and will star Gal Gadot (Fast Five).

Wow... This thread is over 9 years old. Glad WW is finally happening, but in "Man of Steel" universe.

Superhero Hype wrote:Gal Gadot Passes on Ben-Hur as New Rumors Emerge About a Potential Wonder Woman Trilogy!

Although it was thought that the female lead in MGM and Paramount’s upcoming Timur Bekmambetov-helmed remake of Ben-Hur had gone to Gal Gadot, The Hollywood Reporter today brings world that Gadot’s commitments to Warner Bros.’ massive DC Cinematic Universe slate will prevent her from taking the role.

Set for a release on February 26, 2016, the new take on Ben-Hur was originally scripted by Keith Clarke (The Way Back), with revisions by Academy Award-winner John Ridley (12 Years a Slave). Gadot was to have played Esther, a slave and romantic interest to Jack Huston’s leading man. Check back to find out who will be playing the part as soon as a decision is made.

Although it’s only a rumor at this stage, Bleeding Cool is meanwhile reporting that Warner Bros. appears to be planning a full trilogy of Wonder Woman solo films and, according to their unnamed source, the first one will take place back in the 1920s and will reveal Themyscira’s first encounter with the outside world and Wonder Woman’s own experiences with a USA that still had a lot to learn about equal rights. Then, they claim, a sequel is planned to take place in the 1940s and will be set against the backdrop of World War II. A third would finally bring Wonder Woman’s solo adventures to the contemporary setting of the planned Justice League films.

Of course, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt at this stage. What is known for sure is that Gadot’s Wonder Woman will make her debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, hitting theaters March 25, 2016 and will get her own solo film on June 23, 2017.

Collider wrote:Michelle MacLaren In Talks to Direct WONDER WOMAN Movie; Is Absolutely the Right Choice

This is fantastic news if everything pans out properly. For a long time now there’s been a much needed conversation about bringing more female directors to the forefront, whether it be for big superhero films or small indies. When Warner Bros. and DC announced that they would indeed be beating Marvel to the punch when it comes to making a standalone movie about a female superhero with Wonder Woman, there was quite a bit of speculation regarding which female director would get the gig (if a female director was even hired at all).

Michelle MacLaren was always on those speculative lists, often near the top. And for good reason. Not only can she handle character, but her episodes of Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad rank as some of the most cinematic installments of those series (which is saying something when you’re going up against Rian Johnson and Neil Marshall). And now it looks like she might actually have the job.

Per The Wrap:

"Warner Bros.’s Wonder Woman movie may be zeroing in on a director choice — and a female one at that. Sources say Michelle MacLaren is emerging as a frontrunner to direct a Wonder Woman spinoff movie. Warners had no comment. It is unclear what stage of talks MacLaren is in with the studio, which is keeping a tight lid on its DC Entertainment-based projects. But sources say MacLaren has had several meetings with the studio regarding the project."

This, in my mind, is absolutely the right choice. Wonder Woman will of course be played by Gal Gadot, who will be making her debut appearance as the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice next year. The Wonder Woman movie is scheduled to hit cinemas on June 23, 2017. That year will also see the release of the new Wolverine movie, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Thor: Ragnarok, The Fantastic Four 2, Black Panther, and Justice League Part One. Be sure to check out our comprehensive list of superhero movie release dates from now up until 2020.

Superhero Hype wrote:Wonder Woman Targets Pan Scribe Jason Fuchs

We learned late last month that Warner Bros. Pictures is setting “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead” helmer Michelle MacLaren to direct their upcoming DC Comics film Wonder Woman. Now, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the studio is looking at screenwriter Jason Fuchs (Ice Age: Continental Drift, the upcoming Pan) to provide the script.

Gal Gadot is already set to headline Wonder Woman with the character planned to make her first cinematic appearance in 2016′s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She may even make additional appearances across DC’s new cinematic universe before her solo film sees release on June 23, 2017. It’s pretty much a guarantee, too, that Wonder Woman is also going to play an important role in Justice League Part One, hitting theaters November 10, 2017.

Recent rumors have suggested that, as a franchise, Wonder Woman is being targeted for development as a trilogy with the first film planned to take place in the 1920s, revealing Themyscira’s first encounter with the outside world and Wonder Woman’s own experiences with a USA that still had a lot to learn about equal rights. Then, it is alleged, a sequel would take place in the 1940s and will be set against the backdrop of World War II. A third film, then, would finally bring Wonder Woman’s solo adventures to a contemporary setting. Take all of that with a grain of salt, however.

Worst Previews wrote:"Wonder Woman" Director Says There's No Script, Release Date or Green Light

Warner Bros has already scheduled its upcoming "Wonder Woman" film to hit theaters on June 23rd, 2017 and has hired Michelle MacLaren ("Game of Thrones") to direct and Gal Gadot to star. But according to MacLaren, the film is far from a sure thing.

We know that Jason Fuchs (Pan, Ice Age: Continental Drift) was in negotiations to write the script. It turns out that the script has yet to be written. MacLaren goes on to say that the studio hasn't give the green light, adding that the movie also doesn't have a release date.

It's not clear what's going on, but it's possible that the studio is having some doubts and is waiting to see how the script turns out to decide whether it's worth moving forward.

Seems like it's now canceled again. Let's wait and see.

Deadline brings word, in a story unrelated to the DC Cinematic Universe, that Gal Gadot will be suiting up as Diana Prince for her solo Wonder Woman film later this year as production will begin in the fall.

“Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead” director Michelle MacLaren will helm the upcoming movie, which features a script by Jason Fuchs (Ice Age: Continental Drift, the upcoming Pan). Gal Gadot will make her first cinematic appearance in 2016′s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
