this is excellent news, about damn time!! am a BIG fan of Casino and Goodfellas.

Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Al Pacino are making a mob movie together

A lot of holes in the desert, and possibly Al Pacino buried in one of those holes.

Here’s some mob movie news with a little more stugots: Robert De Niro has confirmed to MTV that he will indeed reunite with both Martin Scorsese and Joe Pesci on the upcoming The Irishman, and as previously reported, Al Pacino will come along for the ride—and that’s actually a delightful play on words, seeing as De Niro is playing Frank Sheeran, who may or may not have had something to do with the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa, not that Jimmy Hoffa “disappeared,” or that there was anything out of the ordinary there, we’re not saying that. Earlier this week Scorsese announced that The Irishman would be his very next project after finishing Hugo Cabret, with production perhaps starting as early as next year, and things do seem to be moving forward rather quickly. Another frequent Scorsese collaborator, Steve Zaillian, is currently tweaking the script.

Fortunately, De Niro says he’s now less sure about attempting the strange, Fellini-inspired meta-textual companion film he’d initially suggested doing with Eric Roth (The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button), which would shoot at the same time and approach The Irishman as a “semi-biographical” exploration of De Niro and Scorsese’s relationship. But considering The Irishman itself is already sort of a Five People You Meet In Heaven reunion of people who have had an impact on De Niro’s life (save Ben Stiller), that seems sort of unnecessary. Just give us one last Goodfellas or Casino and then you can go make all the weird self-reflective stuff you want.

I'll be happy with the outcome of this if Leo's not in this and if its anything like Casino & Goodfellas!
they should add Frank Vincent to the cast, that would be the Ultimate 'Expendables' of Mob movies!

wow, just saw when I first created the thread... this has been in development for some time!

there's word though that they are finally gonna do it sometime soon! Pesci is retired though and they've approached him but he keeps turning them down which is a shame, hopefully he gives in and is in it. it would be great for them to make at least one more gangster movie with them again, it'll be like a trilogy: Goodfellas, Casino, The Irishman.

De Niro and Pesci reunited for an award show recently and the movie is mentioned.

really hope to see it out by 2018!

this is getting closer and closer to happening, although unfortunately this big reunion is not getting a theatrical release.

because of Scorsese's last movie 'Silence' not making much money in cinemas they are going in a different direction.

this will be going straight to Netflix, don't like that. it's almost like going straight to video, it's an insult to me.

anyway, this will possibly be out between 2018-2020. who knows, the long wait might have to do with the technology being used. apparently they are gonna de-age De Niro for some scenes to make him look young like how he looked in Godfather 2.

can't wait.

it had just officially been confirmed that Joe Pesci will indeed be in this movie. he has been kind of retired and has only done 2 movies since 2010 and had turned down this movie before but Im sure money talks and he has agreed to be in it. he and De Niro will be digitally de-aged 30 years, which will be good and interesting.. don't want to see their turkey necks. filming in begins in August, with a late 2018 release on Netflix but luckily it will be getting a limited theatrical release to qualify for Academy Awards. can't wait!!
