I haven't read the book but I know the story-line.
My mother-in-law read it when she came here visiting from Scotland, and she became wary of clowns and drains for a long time after reading it.
I'll definitely have to see it.

I like the look and tone of the movie, more serious...

but don't think much of the cast, besides Ben and Mike the kids all look the same. same hair colour, even Beverly has short hair which I hate. they all look alike and its hard to tell them apart, in the trailer at least.

but can't wait for this, big fan of the original. this will be more serious and less goofy like the original.

New Trailer -

I wonder if that particular sexual scene from the book will be in it.

either way, they'll all float!

I love the original, but this one I think is very close to being as good as the original first part. didn't think I was gonna like the kids but I did, well cast. Richie was the highlight, best one. I lol'd when Beverly jumped off into the water (shot from the trailer) and Richie yells "what the f**k!" so it was good to see this not be a usual PG-13 version, we already got that anyway. they didn't shy away from the violence, funny R rated lines. Tim Curry was excellent as Pennywise and Bill did a pretty good alternate take on the dancing clown.

it was good to see the story fleshed out then what we saw originally, a nice alternate take. I liked the 80s references but some of it was a little too much, especially with the New Kids on the Block references. would have liked more traditional 80s-ish music though.

it was well done, makes me wonder what the original movie was gonna be like. different director originally and different actor for Pennywise. don't know why this is a September movie.. shouldn't horror movies come out in October?!

I haven't had a good time at the movies in quite a while. my cinema was packed, every seat was taken and I was 25 minutes early to get my ticket... Im even lucky to have gotten a seat.
