Hope it still happens at some other studio as long as Rob Zombie isn't directing again! :X

as long as Paramount or Newline/Warner pick it up I will be a happy chappie!

cause I know someone at either of those companies want a crossover, and vs films are popular again. we are getting Batman vs Superman, King Kong vs Godzilla. why not Freddy vs Michael or Jason vs Michael. they tried to reboot all 3 series, didn't work out. they are trying to reboot again but what's the point. just make a sequel to the original series!

first there was plans to make a 3rd Halloween to Rob Zombie's, 6 years ago. then time past and that looked like it wasn't gonna happen. then there was word of a new reboot, then that changed to a sequel to the original series set between 2 and 4 (Halloween Returns) and now that isn't happening.

so who knows now what will happen!

this series has been in development hell since the last Halloween was released. there was gonna be a sequel to Rob Zombies Halloween 2, then there was gonna be a sort of sequel/reboot to the original Halloween 2 ignoring parts 3 onwards, then news of the rights being lost, then news of a brand new reboot starting from scratch again but now some new news.

they are making a new Halloween movie with John Carpenter returning as executive producer. no word on what this will be or if it'll have any connection to the original movies (Myers is still out there) or what. still early days yet, if they want to do it right they should plan it out and release it on Halloween in October of 2018 which will be its 40th Anniversary.

we may have lost Friday the 13th but we are still getting a Halloween movie!

apparently the Director of Pineapple Express is directing it and has also co-written it with Danny McBride of all people. they have met with John Carpenter and he liked the script and story. its more of a continuation of sorts of the original 2 Halloween movies. even though they have done just comedy there will be no laughs. you may be thinking its a terrible choice for a Director and writter but don't forget the director of Step Brothers did comedy and then moved onto a award winning drama, The Big Short.

this will be released October 2018.

This sounds interesting! Wish it was out this year though.

just like Friday the 13th this has been in the works for a while, a year or so ago we were gonna get one called 'Halloween Returns' but that didn't happen. we would have had it by now or at least this year though if it wasn't for all the delays.

but you know what, 2018 will be the 40th Anniversary of the original! so perfect timing, so it will probably have some connection to the original series and be a true sequel... probably. hopefully they do something similar to Friday the 13th and release one in 2020!

Jamie Lee Curtis will be back for the new Halloween!

its still a reboot of sorts but a sequel I suppose, it'll ignore most of the sequels...

especially Halloween 8 which
Spoiler: show
killed her off

I read they are just gonna call it Halloween on its own but I hope they don't, thats stupid.
