On a side note ... my partner, who is currently in Adelaide, got to see the play version of Trainspotting 1 last night and he said it was most definitely confronting.

I just saw it, had a free ticket and saw the first session. couldn't wait any longer, there were only 2 other people (an older couple) in the cinema which is a shame. you won't be disappointed, I hope.

at first I thought it was just ok but liked it more in the second half. it's quite different, less about drugs this time. wasn't sure what to expect, it's enjoyable but don't really know what to say about it. good visuals, good music, it's just good to see them all together 20 years later. it's quite serious at times, especially with Robert Carlyle. and yes, frequent uses of the C word! I liked how it ended, thinking the worst was gonna happen but it ended quite nicely. if they don't make a T3 then I'd be fine with how it ended. did we need a sequel, no but it's nice to see what the characters are up to all these years later. not as good as the first but there's a few flashback moments for nostalgia.

Thanks for that Cyborg, I couldn't imagine it being so heavily about drugs - not at their age now, if they wanted it to be believable. I can't wait even more now! No surprises about the frequent use of the C word, I know a lot of Scots! Not generalizing, but. You just have to listen to Billy Connelly, just to mention one!

speaking of C bombs, Eleven played the first movie and I was quite surprised they left all the swearing in!

2 is not as good as the first and runs a little long but its a decent attempt at a sequel done many years after the original.

I often get surprised with some films on TV with the language that comes out. I remember when bloody was a BAD word!

Well, I think they didn't do a too bad a job with this sequel. I'd like to see it again. I loved the flashbacks. Still feel there was something missing.

yeah I feel the same. perhaps cause they weren't on any heroine frequently with strange tripping out moments like in the original.

Yes, I can't put my finger on it. My partner read the book sequel Porno. Sounds pretty hard core, maybe that's why they didn't adapt that. Might have to read it ;)

I saw this again yesterday, and loved it. Don't think I was in the right head space when I saw it last time. I was distracted and missed a few bits.
