Tonights ingredient was SALMON!

French Chef Lerringe made

Marinated Scallop and Salmon
Salmon and Caviar in Scrambled Eggs
Salmon Tartare
Fried Layered Salmon
Salmon and Vegetables Red Wine Stew

Iron Chef Nakamura (new chef) made

Salmon Canape
Hinomaru Stew
Salmon Sushi
Baked Salmon with Herbs

The final was 2-2 so it had to be decided on points
62 Chef Lerringe
61 Chef Nakamura

All I wanted to do all the way through the show was to eat the dishes, oh, how I love salmon.

I am sure DTW is watching the show tonight and will be able to explain the dishes in greater detail and if I have missed anything will let us know. Please report!

Was this weeks episode first to feature in France?

Judging from the lighting and the really bad hair from the challenger (Mullets anyone?), this episode looked ancient.

And next week is a 25 hour challenge.

Don't know what's going on with SBS, last weeks episode with Joel Bruant was from 1994 and had been shown last year. Yesterday they pull out an episode from 1996 - what's so hard in showing the episodes in order.

I felt sorry for Nakamura to lose by one point - it seemed to me that he was hard done by the french judges, who both only gave him 13 points, the japanese judges were more generous in their scoring of Leprince.

The voting was very patriotic, with all four judges granting more points to the chef from their respective nations.

The challenger won but in my opinion I thought the Iron chef had the better dishes. Really enjoyed this show.

it was a bit of a con they show "highlights"of the 24 hours given to get all the ingredients. Then the majority was with the battle and the french guy won 2-in-a row c'mon iron chef's lift your game!.
