Airdate: 84th Academy Awards

Time for Oscarrrrrr, and time for Billy Crystal again next Monday.

Nine is screening the 84th Academy Awards Live to air from 12:30pm AEDT next Monday, February 27th.

It will air Live in all states.

However this year the evening replay will take place on GO! from 7:30pm, with Nine sticking with its Alcatraz, Person of Interest line-up.

In recent years, Nine has replayed the Oscars in primetime from 9:30pm.

Pay TV also screens the event Live on StarPics in HD.

StarPics is unable to screen the evening replay until GO! has concluded, pushing it back to a 3:45am start on Tuesday morning.

Ive heard next to nothing about the actual nominees... Either it's me not looking hard enough or is this year's field gone slightly under the radar? hmm. :P

EDIT: I just looked.. now I know why, the main nominated films theyre mostly all serious drama pieces by the looks. I Guess after 2-3 years with such a diverse field including the likes of Avatar, The Social Network, Up! and Toy Story 3, this year's field looks a bit yawn in comparison. :P

What I've gathered throughout the telecast.

*presenter tells joke*

*pauses for audience to laugh*

*laugh never arrives*

*presenter continues on*

^^ this.

You need to add
*presenter smiles to indicate when to laugh when natural laugh hasn't arrived.
Billy Crystal was just awful. Worst compare I've seen in forever. :|

The "movies are great" pieces were pointless - the first montage didn't seem to have a theme other than "movie".
Did everyone see the Cirque de S guy fall over? Of all the performances to stuff up ... ha ha

Really? Billy Crystal awful? I can't imagine such a thing. I hope it's not true. Will watch in about an hour.

WOW! This has been the best Oscar telecast in recent memory. Cannot remember the last time that I watched the entire thing without fast forwarding through a single frame. So many memorable moments. Hans Zimmer's new music for the Oscars is amazing and arrangements for the lead ins for the presenters were unique. There'd were quite a few moments that will remain great. Octavia Spencer and Emma Stone is a star!

Billy Crystal was a little off his game but still way better than recent hosts. I cannot believe how good the ceremony was and I'm sure I'll watch it again the whole way through before I delete it off my PVR.

at least you enjoyed it, I fast forward through 90% of it. I don't know why I bother.

and Billy was not funny, hes past his use by date as host as far as Im concerned.
they need someone at least 10 years younger and has better timing and humor.

you could almost hear the crickets in the background ;)

Seriously? Yuk. That would have been a fast forward moment except that I was watching it live. :|
