Season Two started a few weeks ago.

The 'celebrities' that has appeared to find out their family history so far are:
Ron Barassi (AFL guy), Sigrid Thornton (actress), Ben Mendelsohn (actor)

and those coming up:
Christine Anu (singer; this Sunday), Maggie Beer (cooking gure) and John Butler (singer)

I miss out on watching the Sigrid episode, but watched the other two. Quite interesting to see family history and how to go around finding your own history.

i missed the first 15 - 20 minutes of the show last night, but did manage to watch the most of it. It had singer, Christine Anu on it. Even though it didn't show about her 'long distant geat great great grand father' like other celebrities, showing pretty much only her grand-parents from both sides, it was still a quite interesting and enjoyable show.

* bump *

Season 3 of the series started on Sunday, with actress Magda Szubanksi being the 'focus' of the week. I found Magda's story interesting. Her story was on both sides of her family - her mothers Irish family, her fathers Polish background and how they met.

This week's episode is on cricketer Rod Marsh (im not that familiar of him)

The remaining 4 stars are Tina Arena, Shane Bourne, Paul Mecurio and Georgie Parker

season 3 was nominated at the Logies for ''Most Popular Factual Program''

SBS has announced that there will be a 4th season, but not announced an air date. I expect it to air later in the year

SBS announced some shows for Autumn / Summer, and had this brief paragraph on who'll be on the show for season 4:
A fourth series of Who Do You Think You Are? follows the journeys of six well-known Australians – actor Vince Colosimo, funny man Shaun Micallef, AFL legend Michael O’Loughlin, actress Melissa George, journalist Kerry O’Brien and actor John Wood.

Season Four begins tomorrow night on SBS at 7.30pm, with Shaun Micalef the first celbrity participating in the show.

Unfortunatly, i'll be working during the show (and most likely the remainder of the series), but i hope sbs replays it (either on sbs2) or on later in the year.

Actors Susie Porter and John Howard have been cast in the fifth Australian season of SBS genealogy series Who Do You Think You Are?

Porter and Howard join Adam Hills, Rove McManus, Asher Keddie, Don Hany, Michael Caton and Lex Marinos in tracing their family history.

SBS commissioned an extra two episodes of the acclaimed series last year, taking the total episodes from six to eight.

“Who Do You Think You Are? is an important series for SBS and we’re thrilled to have Susie Porter and John Howard on board this season. The series continues to engage and inform viewers as it explores the family history of some of Australia’s much loved personalities,” said Tony Iffland, Director TV & Online Content, SBS.

The fifth season will air on SBS later this year.

i actually am looking forward to this new season. I am a fan of all of the cast in it, and am interested in some of their background too (ie - Marinios' Greek heritage, and Hany's Hungarian and Iraqi side too).
