BBC has axed Survivors which is really disappointing as I was looking forward to catching the 3rd season to find out what's going to happen! Not fair at all, as it leaves the story without an ending at all :(

I have trouble keeping up and after a few episodes each seasoon i decide which shows to keep watching "as they air" and which ones i will keep for the off season.

This season Bones, Damages, Desperate Housewives, Supernatural, Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, 90210, Justified, Treme, The Pacific are all downloaded ready to watch but I ran out of time to see them so for most i have 3/4 of the their seasons to get through.

It really makes the time between the US Ratings seasons easier to withstand ;)

Kind of off-topic, but I find cable shows are easier to digest; even though the episodes can be longer running, the shorter running time doesn't seem so daunting when committing to a 22-24 episode series run. Only problem is that cable shows only air once a year usually. I'm a fan of how Sci-Fi and USA cut their season run in two halves and spread them across the year. That makes the wait less IMO.

I agree it is easier to sustain a storyline over fewer episodes.

as for the wait i honestly don't mind waiting if the show is good. I am not saying that I am not dying for m ore true blood in a few weeks, but it is great to have something to look forward to next year, rather then waiting for a show that has been ruined by a poor season.

True...

And axed shows with shorter runs end up being much tighter and more entertaining as well. Maybe because they are so much more condensed than a full length series anyway...
