Why is Kelly McDonald nominated in a supporting role for Boardwalk? That's absurd as far as I'm concerned.

Good to see the Boardwalk love though. Should win easily.

Some terrible choices there too, though.

Later on tonight, I will be posting my predictions for the Golden Globes. I will post who I think should win and who will win. I'm interested in hearing anyone else's predictions on who will win the awards.

My point exactly. I know i am bias here but how could she get a nod over Sandra Oh or Chandra Wilson for their terrific performances in the S6 finale.

This year some nominations make sense and deserving but others are WTF?

Yeah, Boardwalk Empire will be winning SOMETHING. Steve Buscemi I imagine. Maybe Drama too.

And I hope Kelly MacDonald does win. She's super. My point above was that she should be LEAD actress, not supporting. She has what I approximate to be a similar amount of screen-time as Buscemi, who got nominated as lead. Just my opinion, though.

Here is the run down of the 2011 Golden Globes. It seems we won't be getting FTA coverage again this year. This is the perfect opportunity to use the digital channels and yet again no one will bother.

I will hopefully be posting winners as they come through. Since there is no FTA coverage i won't be spoilering these results.

TV Tonight wrote:68th Golden Globe Awards: Guide

On Monday the Hollywood Foreign Press Association will recognise the year’s best in both film and television at the 68th Golden Globe Awards.

They are generally seen as an indicator of where the Oscars will fall (we’re actually still awaiting the nominees!) Because the HFPA comprises journos, the list of winners doesn’t always go for the top stars and isn’t afraid to recognise oveseas performers.

Toni Collette is the sole Australian actor to be nominated in the television awards -however Geoffrey Rush, Nicole Kidman and Jacki Weaver have all been nominated in the film awards.

The event will air live in Australian on FOX8 at midday with a replay later on Monday night. The Red Carpet will also screen live to air in 2 broadcasts. But there is no Free to Air broadcast…..

TV Tonight will be blogging the TV results as they are announced on Monday afternoon.
Countdown to the Red Carpet: 9am AEDT on E!
Red Carpet: Live 10am AEDT on E! with Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic
Red Carpet: Live 11am AEDT Monday on FOX8 / FOX HD
Awards: Live 12pm AEDT / FOX HD (repeated 7:35pm Monday)
After Party: Live 3pm AEDT Monday E!
Fashion Police: 11:10am AEDT Wednesday on E!
Venue: Beverly Hilton Hotel

Host: Ricky Gervais

Presenters: Blair Underwood, Renee Zellweger, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Megan Fox, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, Leighton Meester, Zac Efron, Vanessa Williams, January Jones, Michelle Pfeiffer, Milla Jovovich, Jeremy Irons, Warren Beatty, Tim Allen, Jane Fonda, Matt Bomer, Jeff Bridges, Sylvester Stallone, Tilda Swinton, Geoffrey Rush, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hanks.

For those of us who don't have PayTV, there should be a livestream of the show somewhere on the web. I managed to check out 5 minutes of it last year, but only 5 minutes seeing as I had limited data. Now that I am on a better plan, I should be able to watch the entire ceremony.

it's a shame that none of the FTA channels picked it up this year.
