I think the Packers should have a Feud over why they're rehashing this pathetic garbage.

One thing they haven't announced yet is if it will be Patty or Lauren co-hosting. :P[/quote:254506ea10]

When it starts next year, I think Family Fued will do all right in the ratings for a while. People will watch it because a) it's new and b) it's Bert.

After a month or so, I think people will take it on its merits as a programme. They'll have to also make it pretty trendy to keep up with the younger aimed Deal or No Deal.

I'll check it out, but if the game show's boring, I'm back off to the Deal.

Family Fued, I remember that show, who hosted the original version that was on channel 7?

I do agree Samuel, but it also depends on Channel 9's promotion angle. Their past game shows have flopped because
a: - they didnt aim to a specific target audience
b: - Often not as interesting as they make it out to be in the so called promos.

I will watch this when it comes back on, but the format will be the same, I presume?

The Seven version was hosted by Rob Brough.
Incidentally, this was a very popular show in the late 70's and early 80's, when it was hosted first by Tony Barber and then by Daryl Somers.

I remeber the Rob Brough version as a kid, ir eally liked it and it was the game that teahcers always played with their class at school.

I saw today that Channel 7 are sticking with Wheel of Fortune too. I saw an add for contestents for next year. I guess the 5-6 game show hour will be hostly contested again next year. Faunny that Family Fued and Wheel were 7 game show hours in the late 80's early 90's.

[quote:a93c9e604d]A principal motivation for establishing the show was that the Nine Network had the highest-rating Australian television news service for many years, but saw its market share [b:a93c9e604d]disappear to the Seven Network in recent times. [/b:a93c9e604d]This is widely believed to be because the 'lead-in' show Deal or No Deal, broadcast from 5.30 to 6pm, had a stronger following than its competition, The Price is Right. It is conventional wisdom in the television industry that a strong lead-in show can increase ratings for a subsequent show.[/quote:a93c9e604d]

I remember Family Feud when it was hosted by Steve Vizard as far as i remember. I didn't really like it back then but it might be different now who knows.
