I am enjoying this show. I find it well acted and gritty. Hospitals are places where medical drama dose take place, it is nice to see the medical drama take precedence.

Why are TEN replaying Thursday nights episode of The Surgeon tonight? I'm confused.

I love Platyus' description of this excellent show, "a scripted version of RPA". The encore presentation tonight was great because I missed seeing all of this ep last time. We saw Dr Agius get really emotional after Katrina (injured mother) died. I love the little summary at the end of each episode, and I think 30 mins is just the right length for this type of show. I enjoy House, Scrubs and Grey's Anatomy for different reasons, heck I even like RPA. There was even a great show on late at night about a real ER in America, can't remember its name, very gory and realistic but fascinating in a sick kind of way.

Yeah that was classic, and the look on Dr Roos face. It was almost glad I could help you maybe my life is not to bad after all. Rather than you really are a sad case you are lower than me. It was an almost tender look. It suprised me.
I thought it was a pretty good episode. It had a bit more character development this week. The character development is subtle in this show, but it is starting to happen.

Yes, we are getting abit more into the personal side of the characters now.

We have a few sparks flying between DrRoo & Little Matty Moonface and next week we see a seedy side to the lovely Sam Worthington.

I hope they do at least one more series of The Surgeon. I don't care if they move it to midnight on a Fri, Sat or Sun I would like to see more after this series.

I cant believe the comments on the show looking dark. Man one of the things I hate about most of Australian tv and Film dramas .. is that the lighting is so flat and bright... if you watch any real dramas you can see the lighting is moody and uses color just like the surgeon. I think the lighting in the surgeon is actually quite cinematic. and helps you concentrate on the characters rather than bright white walls like in the really badly shot allsaints... man that show is ugly...
I think the cinematography in the surgeon is bloody fantastic.. and the eps are getting better and better
