Sorry hugs, never heard of it.

I thought it was movie & set the recorder to record 2 hours. Are you telling me it is actually a series? I haven't checked my tape yet. All i saw was the beginning when they had the credits up. When i found out that it was written by Ben Affleck & that he & MAtt Damon produced it , i set the recorder. You'll have to tell me more.
That sound that you're hearing - you know that boom? That's my mind blowing -(Alias season1 epi8)

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon produced series that lasted a whole two months on ABC in 2002. It lasted an amazing 8 episodes.

Here is a run down:

[quote:23f5f2444b]When Jim Prufrock (Derek Cecil), a mild-mannered IRS agent, traveled to a remote desert town in search of some missing cash, he didn't know he would be meeting up with some strange individuals instead. The story begins when a fax is accidently (?) sent to Jim from the Versailles Casino. The fax alerts him to a sizable accounting error -- and a possible embezzlement scheme. A phone number listed on the fax leads to Casino honcho Silas Bodnick, but he has nothing to say about the missing money. Jim wants to know what in blazes is going on, so he packs his bags and travels to Push, where mystery and intrigue are the norm. Push is a sleepy (read: creepy) town where the only casino, the Versailles, pays out the big jackpots; where the lonely look for a slow dance, a shoulder, and companionship at "Sloman's"; and where the townspeople's intimate encounters are synchronized at 9:15 every night. During his pervestigation of Push, Jim meets Mary (Scarlett Chorvat), a striking beauty who advises Jim to leave Push's secrets in Push and get out of town before it's too late. Jim's determined to find out what mysteries lie within Push, no matter what. Through his (mis)adventures, a shadowy team of high-tech operatives monitor his every move.[/quote:23f5f2444b]

Sounds alright - but it actually started Tuesday night I imagine because Monday's at 10.30 is 24!

I can't imagine this show lasting more than 8 episodes ...I mean he's an IRS agent & out to find the town's secrets you can't have hime searching there for 3 seasons so I'm glad its more of a mini-series type length.

It felt a little like American Gothic, a bit like twin peeks & a teeny bit like Roswell. All up its got me intrigued & I'll keep watching. I'm curious about the town's 9:15 sex rompings ;)...& who are these people behind the cameras that can see all in the town? One of the better series premiere's of late - it blows Threat Matrix out of the water!

Well, anything is better than Threat Matrix by the sounds of things!

Honestly, if its self contained (as in the 8 episodes have a plot and dont leave you without an open ended finale) then I might tune in. Sounds interesting - and I did like American Gothic heaps when it was on so anything related to that is up there. Wish that would re-appear in some form on pay tv/fta again! :(

But anyway, I missed it - I'll have to tune in next week again. Will it be too difficult to pick up on the second episode?

I hope its self contained!

Well the first epi pretty much covered what you posted in your summary quote above so I think having read that it shouldn't be too hard to get in on the 2nd epi.

Yes I missed it too. It sounds interesting though in an American Gothic/Twin Peaks type of way

But like loved_jay said will we be lost if we didn't see the first ep?

Apparently not Bodhi, if you read the plot in a post further up the thread it should fix you up on the first episode! :)
