Incidentally, according to IMDB, the British version lasted ten years, 1988-1998.

I like the brit version - most of the US Whose Line cast is in too: Greg Proops, Brad Sherwood, Wayne Brady, Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie. The only major difference is that Drew Carey isnt the host.

Excellent! A Whose Line thread ! :D

[quote:18903b03d8="bane"]No, the show was caned years ago.

I explained it all in the old thread (wherever that is).[/quote:18903b03d8]

I've been looking for the old thread & gave up.

[quote:18903b03d8="A.A"]Incidentally, according to IMDB, the British version lasted ten years, 1988-1998.[/quote:18903b03d8] Yes it did & I've seen every episode... just don't have recordings of most of them. So wish the British version would come out on DVD.

I know the first season of the US version in on DVD now (Amazon) & I also know a kind family member of mine has a copy of this for me under the Christmas tree. :shifty: 8) *patiently waiting for Monday morning*

Greg, Ryan & Colin rock! They are my favourite three... especially Colin. 8)

Clive Anderson the British host is in my opinion...far funnier than Drew Carey. Clive could banter with Greg Proops all day ....

Nah I didn't like the UK version. I love the US version better. It is on every night on the Comedy Channel. My mum and I love this show!
Is everyone out to get me or is it just in my head?

The British version was much better.

It was pretty unloved really at the time ( series 1 and 2 have been released on Region 1 DVD this year but not the UK's Region 2) but that meant it was usually on after 11pm even for the first showing of a series, as I remember well, (1994-1998) which meant they could make it edgier and for adults. Even with the decade difference between UK and US versions it was more racier.

Rather than the Yank version which never cut the mustard in the edgy stakes and pitted itself timewise on their network against family-friendly teenybop evening shows like Friends. Although let's be honest if a new "season" of it had been shown at 11pm in the states it would have been prudish given the Nunnery that runs their television censors.

The American version is on EzyDVD for "Future Release" http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/790021

I've registered my interest, I hope it comes out soon. I love Ryan and Colin! :D
