It sounds to me like a really good romantic comedy (as in movie), but I can't see there being enough substance to keep an interesting series alive.

I just hope the characters are not the usual cliche.

Does anyone know which Australian Network has the rights to this show?

Sony owns the rights so Channel 10 most likely.

EMILY'S REASONS WHY NOT had a low rating debut in the U.S. Paired with sister comedy, JAKE IN PROGRESS, EMILY"S REASONS WHY NOT failed to get over 10 million viewers and it ran third in the timeslot. NOT LOOKING GOOD :(

Thats quite odd considering that Heather Graham is quite a well known star. But if it rated low in the first week, I can't see it getting much better.

Pros:
*Heather Graham
*No laugh track

Cons:
*Not funny
*Annoying characters

I watched it last night, and it was decent at best. Quite sad, but expected. Its a sitcom so won't stretch the download limit so I'll keep downloading as long as its around. Its a shame as it would have been great to see Heather Graham in a regular weekly show. :(

Yeah, but Emily's was the lead in. If Jake was I could understand, but I guess it just wasn't going to work.
I guess CBS just has a hold on the comedy's Monday nights - FOX's Kitchen Confidential and Arrested Development didn't work either last year when they were on either. :?

Looks like its as good as gone after one episode. ABC replaced this weeks episode with a repeat of The Batchelor. :?

I can't say I'll miss it.

[quote:3dda40a1ee="sherry is alive"]i don't know if i'll get into this, because i see it having a very short life span. a good tv show requires at least a 5 year commitment imo, giving her the opportunity to make very few movies in that time. i can't see heather making the switch from movie to tv.[/quote:3dda40a1ee]
Actually that's not true. You can make TV shows and movies at the same time. Sarah Michelle Gellar's peak (so far) in her movie career was in the late 90's, while Buffy was filming!
