same here, although this will not be anywhere near as good. the guy playing Seth Gecko looks forgettable.

original director Robert Rodriguez will be directing 3 episodes!

pity they couldn't get better known actors for the main 2 characters.

here's another proper Trailer -

oh my god, awesome. free to air are airing this!

Airdate: From Dusk Till Dawn

Next month SBS 2 will unleash vampires, Texas rangers and pythons when it premieres From Dusk Till Dawn, the small screen version of the cult horror film by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.

The 10 part series, developed by Rodriguez, follows bank robbers Seth Gecko (D.J. Cotrona) and his violent, erratic brother, Richie Gecko (Zane Holtz).

On the run to Mexico, and wanted by Texas Rangers Earl McGraw (Don Johnson) and Freddie Gonzalez (Jesse Garcia), the Gecko Brothers take former Pastor Jacob Fuller (Robert Patrick) and his children hostage. Using the Fuller family RV to cross the border, chaos ensues when the group ends up at a strip club populated by vampires. With the law, the undead and some of Mexico’s most hardened criminals on their trail, the group must fight until dawn to get out alive.

Described as having “a healthy mix of sharp witty dialogue, bloody bursts of violence, vampires, and supernatural horror” the series deepens the tone and expands the storyline of the original film, adds new characters and backstories and explores the Mesoamerican mythology behind the creatures inside the club.

8:30pm Tuesday July 1st on SBS 2.

didn't bother watching online, will be watching for sure! not a fan of the casting though.

The movie (with George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino) that the show is based on is a guilty pleasure of mine :<

I just caught up with this, it's only worth watching if your a fan of the movie.

it was.. interesting. it's basically the story from the original, just fleshing out the characters, backstory and creating new characters and new situations/scenes that take place in-between the scenes from the movie. they redo the scenes from the movie and alter them a little. and characters that died in the movie, might live on now through this series but I won't spoil who. you could almost say it's an alternate From Dusk Till Dawn. we see the same scenes from the movie like I said, same dialogue too but it's not as well delivered then the original, you can kind of say watching the series is almost like watching a parody.. sort of. they explore the story deeper but it's not a story I wanted to know more about.

the actors were nowhere near as good or memorable as the original, with the exception of Richie and Robert Patrick. the violence is there and I can't believe they showed it at 8:30 while Walking Dead gets played at 9:30 on SBS 2. it's quite bloody at times, although unlike the movie it has only 2 F words.. the movie had heaps. the series had a alternate ending to what the movie had so they will go in a whole other different direction.

all I all it was a decent TV adaptation but nothing too special, it was amusing.

so, did anyone watch it?
