Gone: American Horror Story

It’s bad news if you have been watching the American Horror Story replay on ELEVEN.

It’s been pulled from schedules.

I thought it might have just been off air for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, both being Monday nights, but ELEVEN amendments indicate it has been pulled in early January too.

Meanwhile no sign yet of Season Two.

I see AMH as an uber-cool show that could have generated some genuine buzz on TEN (and not ELEVEN) but I seem to be in the minority there…

Edit: People seem to think that because part of the storyline involves a high school shooting that is the reason it has been removed from schedule....

I think AHS has been pulled due to the school shooting storyline which features prominently throughout the first season. FX on Foxtel are also rescreening season one for those who want to watch it again, they are up to the third episode.

Season 3 was fast-tracked, unlike Season 2. I watched it through Eleven.

I liked it, didn't love it. Season 2 and 3 are too different, mainly cause of the time periods they are set in. Season 1 was modern day set and to me is the best season yet! 2&3 were all over the place, set in the past and present and going all over the place. it didn't interest me as much as Season 1 and confused me.

but man, was Season 3 gory! never remembered older FX shows being this violent!

thoughts anyone?

ELEVEN to fast-track American Horror Story

ELEVEN is set to fast-track the fourth season of American Horror Story “Freak Show” within a week of its US premiere.

While a date is not confirmed, it begins in the US on October 8th.

Returning for another season are Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Frances Conroy, Denis O’Hare, Evan Peters, Gabourey Sidibe, Jamie Brewer and Kathy Bates.

Ryan Murphy recently said of the series, “The carnies historically were always thought of as lower than thieves, lower than vermin. They were not allowed to sit in certain parts of diners. They were not allowed in movie theatres. They were really ostracised from society. They were thought of as the dregs.

“So that’s going on as Jessica Lange’s character is trying to keep the sideshow going and it’s not working until she stumbles across two girls, conjoined twins played by Sarah Paulson, who may or may not be responsible for heinous activities that have gone on in the town.”

Recently honoured with two Primetime Emmy Awards, the latest instalment of American Horror Story begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida.

The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amid the dying world of the American carny experience.

Returning: American Horror Story

TEN has confirmed American Horror Story: Freak Show will premiere on ELEVEN at 9.30pm, Monday, October 13, several days after its US debut.

The cast features Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Denis O’Hare, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Jamie Brewer, Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Gabourey Sidibe.

Spoiler: show
Creator Ryan Murphy has said of Jessica Lange’s character, “This season, the thing about Elsa is she’s a very benevolent soul in that her sideshow has been going on since the 1930s.

“What she’s done for 20 years is she goes around to hospitals and jails and rescues these ‘freak’ circus performers who are going to be shipped away to asylums and she signs the waivers and she becomes their guardians. So she loves them and takes care of them. She’s sort of like the mama of all of them.

“She’s trying to do anything to keep this freak show going because where are these people going to go? In her way, she relates to them and feels like she’s one of them as well,” he said.

I was talking over coffee about Emma Roberts's Madison Montgomery in AHS 3, how that overly bleached blonde hair makes a beautiful woman like Emma Roberts look decisively unsexy from "overdoing her sexiness"?

Speaking of Emma Roberts, she was very good in Gia Coppola's film: Palo Alto, a film which covered actor James Franco's stories from his childhood/ teenage years
