I caught this by accident to the other night and got a bit hooked. To me, the only one with genuine presence on first impressions is Mercedes, the girl with the dark brown bob haircut who won the Diva Suite and did the best screen test for Smallville. She reminds me a bit of younger Isabella Rosselini and another actress whose names is on the tip of my tongue. But she really had presence. The rest were okay, but not stand outs at first auditions and the like.

P.S: I was curious so I too had a look for the winner and I was disappointed. [spoiler:360b1f05bb]What a bummer. Not really my pick. Oh well, my pick was 1st runner up, and they can sometimes come out better than the winners. Just have to see what happens.[/spoiler:360b1f05bb]

I put it as a spoiler even though I did not name names just in case. :D
The Doctor: People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect... but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly.... timey-wimey.... stuff.

Ahh, that's who she reminds me of!! I've been racking my brain all week and then again whilst I was watching it last night!! :D :D Definitely Isabella Rosselini.

I quite liked the blonde girl that Mercedes did the kiss with last night - can't remember her name yet (is that a good or bad thing? ;)), but she was quite believable I thought.

Michelynne looked great after her make-over, and the style tips she would have picked up could give her a little edge over some of the other girls. I don't mind her, she seems friendly and un-diva-like.

Must be a fast series though - are they going to keep eliminating 2 every week? :eh:

yer i like michelyn, i think in terms of what they are looking for she seems most likely to win, she kind of appears to look suited to a role in one tree hill, she can kind of act but is still impressionable enough to be moulded into a good actress where as the others appears to have there character and kind of stick to it

i do love the accent on the blonde  very sexy i think thats why she suited that scene last night contrasted well with her more snooty kind of upper class persona

Where to start with the monkey on crack that womans and animal :silenced: poor michelyn, courtney was all over her like a rash..

funniest moment of the night has to go to katie and the teddy bar this emoticon seems to say it all

Can someone please tell me who went last night...? I missed it in the usual timeslot and ended up catching it around midnight, but fell asleep right before they brought the girls back in to send someone home!!! :?

I'm thinking it was probably the african-american woman, the one that is a model - they shot her down, but I thought her ad was quite alright!! Either her or the Sth African(?) strawberry blonde with the lovely accent (that Faye doesn't like). :eh:

Am I the only one still watching this??

Hrm.. umm, yeah glad Lauren went as I didn't think she had the same sparkle as the other girls. And good to see that it was Donna who left last week too!! ;)

Katie really annoys me. The panel seem to really like her, but geez she can be a bitch. And good on Lauren for refusing to say goodbye to Katie, I wouldn't have acknowledged Katie either, if she spoke to me like that.

Cecile is probably my favourite to win, but I get the idea that they don't think her accent fits into the American market, which is a shame because I love her accent. :?

Katie's attitude is so pathetic. She doesn't want to be friends with the girls but doesn't want to be left out. And what about her attempt to "console" Lauren after she was eliminated. Typical bitchy girl.

Yes, the panel do seem to like her. It's a pity they didn't see how many times she stuffed up the filming of the scene and the number of times she used the F word.

I hope she goes soon and doesn't win.

I wouldn't have eliminated Lauren, I would have eliminated that one (don't know her name, first ep for me ) who was so OTT in her screen test. She was terrible.

Next time she has to do a scene based on pain and humiliation, I hope that she remembers how she felt at judging, and is able to draw on those emotions, rather than giving a paint-by-numbers performance completely lacking in the subtle nuances that the scene required.

I'm still watching, too, and I thought Cecile would go, myself. I do love her accent, but they seem to hate it, and I thought she was really one dimensional, too.

Lauren - well, I didn't think she was that great, but at the very least she could feel ripped off, since she was better than Cecile this week.

I bet she's spewing that she didn't outlast Katie!! I agree, I would have frozen Katie out, too, and Katie reaching out to her just smacked of not wanting to look bad in front of the judges.

It's funny, she was the one at the start of the series who said she wanted everyone to think she was a really nice girl! How times change... In terms of what they are looking for in the Starlet, someone to play on Smallville, I think Katie and Michellyne (sp! it's a stupid name! Argh!) have the edge, just because Mercedes and Cecile are so much more adult both in looks and in the way they play their scenes.

It was a spot on 'One Tree Hill', not Smallville, wasn't it? Doesn't matter I don't watch either of them!!!

But you're right wen, and as soon as Katie was eliminated I figured Michelyne would win because I agree with you that Mercedes is a little too 'adult' (and I don't mean to say she's porn material!! :shifty: )

I think the Starlet had to be a likeable person and someone who the viewing public actually liked (which didn't seem to be Katie), because the producers would be quietly hoping to improve ratings for One Tree Hill - people who never watched before would tune in just to see how the winner goes.

Michelyne is quite sweet and she's young, so the opportunity to be around serious actors in a popular television show should/could help her grow into a great actress. Of course, she could just fade into obscurity like so many others, but she has her big break, so for her it's fantastic.

I did tend to feel a bit for Mercedes.. Joseph built up her hopes by saying [i:8f8c7b1d7d]"You [b:8f8c7b1d7d]are[/b:8f8c7b1d7d] my Starlet"[/i:8f8c7b1d7d]. I think she thought she had it in the bag. :? And I'm not sure how old Mercedes is, but I could see her point when she was saying something along the lines of that she'd worked at it for so long, yet here Michelyne comes, fresh out of school and walks into a tailor made role.

Ahh well.. them's the breaks!!!!
