anyone seen any retro movies in the cinema these days, any local cinemas near you show them?

it's very rare it happens but Hoyts have been showing some lately. if it's a really good movie I'll go, a total classic that's worth seeing on a huge screen. they usually stick to anniversaries, I know they showed Top Gun recently but I missed it.

I saw tonight Independence Day, seen it many times but how often can you see a 20 year old movie on the big screen. how many of us can say we saw these old movies on the big screen when they came out originally? not many I'm sure, I was in high school when ID4 came out and I don't remember seeing it in the cinema.

others I have seen: Back to the Future and Jurassic Park (in 3D)

every seat in BTTF was filled! great experience, young and old and inbetween were there.
ID4 was a decent crowd, 20-30 people. it's great to see people support these old movies!

how about you guys?
