Lets see -
Two Hands
Love and Other Catastrophes
Occassional Course Language
Strange Planet
Romper Stomper
The Sum of Us
Noise

I found Lantana to be quite boring, overrated and rhetorical. I have a notepad somewhere with others. Also not fond of The Dish, The Castle

I really liked Lantana, I didn't think I would, but it was really good.

The Sum Of Us, out of that lot, from what I can remember of it. Romper Stomper wasn't that great for a skinhead movie.

The best Australian film I've seen is, by a considerable margin, The Proposition.

Magnificent stuff. 8)

Love and Other Catastrophies was pretty tedious, I thought, but Two Hands, Romper Stomper, Chopper, Rabbit Proof Fence, Picnic at Hanging Rock and Walkabout are all pretty great IMO.

As was Lantana. And the highly underrated The Magician.

The Dish, The Castle and Bad Eggs were all alright too. Didn't mind The Bank either. :)

I personally don't think the Australian film industry is as terrible as others do.

My favourite Aussie movie (which is also one of my all time favourite movies) is Malcolm (1986) It's an oldie but it's still one of the sweetest and funnist movies I've ever seen.

Most people know it for the scene with the car that splits in half (sorry about the clip I can't find an English one  What they're saying doesn't really matter much anyway, It's the car that's fantastic :D).

I also love the music and Colin Friels is brilliant as Malcolm.

I'm surprised we did not have a thread like this, earlier... But then, we did have that short lived game, in this thread, which was centred around Aussie films.

I've enjoyed a number of Aussie films, but am still to see some more of the more recent hits, like Lantana, Rabbit Proof Fence, Little Fish, Look Both Ways etc...

Going by the other thread, I guess I've enjoyed:

Romper Stomper (1992)
Gallipoli (1981)
Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975)
Crocodile Dundee (1986)
Mad Max 2 (1981)

Mad Max (1979)
Breaker Morant (1980)
Muriel's Wedding (1994)
The Year of Living Dangerously (1982)
The Castle (1997)
The Man From Snowy River (1982)
Young Einstein (1988)
Chopper (2000)
Malcolm (1986)
Dating The Enemy (1996)
Bushfire Moon (Aka Miracle Down Under) (1987) - A TV Movie directed by the director of The Man From Snowy River and Andre, George Miller (Not Mad Max guy). A rarity in that it is an Aussie Christmas movie and an enjoyable one at that, quite touching.

Ooh, one I left out, Love Serenade, with Miranda Otto.

I wish all romantic comedies ended like this one. 8)
