I just noticed a new channel has been added to my TiVo channel list, 76.
you go to the channel and it just says 7 New Channel Coming Soon

this is the first I'm hearing of this, have no idea what it is. me thinks they want to compete with Nine since they just created a new channel. I'm hoping it's something new and a different kind of channel for FTA, we already have a news, kids, food and reality among others. I would love to see a retro channel, old sitcoms and old movies. they could call it, 7classics or 7retro. but it'll most likely be something lame.

anyone know anything about this mysterious new channel?

Rumour: Seven to launch movie channel?

Seven’s newest channel is set to launch in February.

While there are whispers of a possible movie channel, the network remains tight-lipped on the content and branding.

Network Director of Programming Angus Ross confirmed to TV Tonight, “We are launching a new channel in February and things will be announced soon.”

Nine recently launched lifestyle channel 9Life while SBS has added its Food Network.

Having a fourth channel has no doubt helped Nine’s summer share.

With Seven launching a fourth entertainment channel, attention will surely to TEN and whether it plans to match its competition.

I'm hoping for a retro channel. classic sitcoms, crime shows and movies.

7flix to launch Feb 28

Seven will launch its newest channel 7flix on February 28th on Channel 76.

As tipped, the channel will be high on movie content, but will also feature TV shows and Kids content.

Based on the Seven promo TV shows appear to include The Amazing Race, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, Grey’s Anatomy, The Mindy Project, Once Upon a Time, The Muppets and Seinfeld.

Seven is understood to have explored a Lifestyle channel but has opted for a general Entertainment channel.

It follows Nine recently adding 9Life and SBS adding Food Network.

OzTAM requires one month’s notice to include in the survey panel, so based on industry chatter it should meet that by Feb 28th.

finally some news, the suspense was killing me!

I'm fine with it being a movie/tv show channel but they shouldn't include newer shows, leave them for 7two. if this is mostly a movie channel, then hopefully they won't put them on 7two or 7mate, opening up more timeslots on those 2 channels for more content. the thing is, these programmers can't come up with good timeslots, I bet the schedule is jumbled and all over the place.

for the shows they've listed, hopefully this means earlier timeslots for them instead of being shafted to midnight slots and such. like the less popular shows given a second chance in earlier slots. and with the new FTA ratings they can air M/MA content earlier!

if you go to ch 76 now they have a continuous loop of that promo slightly altered, and one for TV shows.

they claim to show movies from 8:30, so my guess is TV shows will air up until then. since they can play M rated content at 7:30 shows like Grey's and others can be played at that time. they say they are airing NEW episodes of The Mindy Project, Grey's Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder, Once Upon A Time. plus Seinfeld. this is more of a female aimed channel so I don't know why they moved it from 7mate to 7flix though.

Shame it's not going to be a movie channel full stop.

not sure how the schedule is gonna turn out but they say movies from 8:30 so perhaps they'll do marathons from then. but as for the TV shows they advertise, not sure where they'll go. they can play them at 7:30, with M rating. as for during the day they could be just movies, I'm more curious about that but since it's called 7flix that's what they should do, at least from 12pm-6pm.
