Throng's Summer Schedule Look: Channel 7
If you thought summer was full of re runs and decade old movies, then the Seven Network’s summer line-up will sorely disappoint television viewers.
Seven plans on continuing into December with almost all your favourite shows with new episodes and continue to run American shows until their traditional fall finales. Highlights include:
•Quantico will run for an extra 4 episodes into non ratings so that Australian fans are up to date with America
•Castle will run for an additional 1 week to fall in line with the American fall finale.
•Grey’s Anatomy will move to Sunday nights with a further 3 episodes that will land us right with the American fall finale
•How to Get Away with Murder will run for an extra 1 episode to also reach the American fall finale
•Home and Away will continue running into the summer non ratings period with even more episodes than in a traditional ratings week
•What Really Happens in Thailand will continue with more new episodes on Tuesday nights
•Chicago Fire will continue with brand new episodes
•The Mindy Project continues on Seven with brand new episodes
•Blindspot will continue into summer with new episodes right through to the episode 10 fall finale
•The Blacklist will continue for an additional episode and then call it quits for the year. That leaves 1 episode from America unaired. This is part 1 of a 2 part episode that will not conclude in America until sometime in 2016, which means Seven may hang onto this episode so they can screen both parts together next year and then continue the season.
•Heroes Reborn will continue for 1 additional screening bringing us in line with the American fall finale. The final 3 episodes of the season air overseas in January. It is unclear if Seven will follow suit here.
•Air Rescue will return for all new episodes
•Car Crash TV will air for an additional week to play out all remaining episodes
•The Amazing Race will continue to air until its finale
•Grimm will air all new episodes
•The Player will air its final 2 episodes in summer but just be pre-empted that first week of non ratings
•No news on Mesmerised or Motive.
All in all, this is a 100% win for viewers, as the audience continues to see a schedule, normally reserved only for the ratings period. It is good to see Seven air American series until the traditional fall finales, which seems the case this year, aside from The Blacklist. Seven is also using this non ratings period to return What Really Happens in Thailand to the line-up.
