[b74]Monday February 9th:[/b74]

ABC 14.5
SEVEN 28.1
NINE 29.0
TEN 24.4
SBS 4.1

Analysis courtesy Mediaweek:

Seven's decision to show an Australian TV movie premiere last night, Bend It Like Beckham, took them within 0.9 of a point of victory across the five cap cities.
Even though TEN was back in third spot, all three networks had good figures at some stage last night. Seven won at 7pm with the car crash aftermath on Home and Away. ASt 7.30pm Friends was the strongest performer as Seven and TEN fought over second spot. At 8.30 Seven's movie dominated for 2 1/2 hours in Sydney while in Melbourne TEN's Queer Eye won the first hour.

Seven managed to make its Grammys highlights package last night at 11pm almost unwatchable as the 3 1/2 program was squeezed into 2 hours. Performances were cut, acceptance speeches were cut and presenters were cut.

At the other end of the day having the Sunrise team broadcasting from Las Vegas didn't seem to affect the ratings too much. In Sydney the Today show dominated the all-people numbers after 6.30am and in Melbourne it led in every slot throughout the 3 hours. At 8am in Melbourne Today had 129,000 viewers to Sunrise's 62,000.

I reckon Koschie could be the next Dr Phil, or Jerry Springer. He so should have his own talk show....

The ratings in this country dont reflect what the country is watching

3000 homes with people meters will not ever show what 2,000,000 homes are watching regardless of the funny demographics and all the other whizbangery they use

And worse than that we dummies put up with it, the tv stations "are taking us for a ride"

[b7d][color=green7d][size=187d]They want us to believe the television ratings in aus are factual, yeah right and pigs might fly[/b7d][/color7d][/size7d]

[b:38408a2303]Tuesday Febraruy 10[/b:38408a2303]

ABC 16.3
SEVEN 23.4
NINE 34.3
TEN 22.4
SBS 3.7

Review courtesy Mediaweek:

Survivor All Stars was a hit for Nine at 7.30pm last night, but it wasn't as far ahead of Seven and TEN amongst all people as some may have thought. The Seven special on the Hilton Sisters edged out TEN's Australian Idol concert for part of the hour in Sydney and for the whole hour in Melbourne to take second place.

The return of CSI at 8.30pm on Nine was a big winner, ahead of The Bill on ABC TV and the last hour of the Idol concert on TEN. The Diana special on Seven, which finished in fourth spot, may finally indicate that there's not too many ratings points left in her story unless you have some big news.

At 9.30 Rove [Live] had to be content with second spot, even if the program was up against a CSI repeat.

The HotHouse is still doing it tough for TEN at 7pm. There is still a bit of a pulse in Sydney where the show was just over 100,000 viewers behind Frasier on Nine. In Melbourne however it looks a lot worse. The gap between those two shows there was over 300,000 last night. If TEN has been sitting on a couple of scandals to unleash in case of emergency, now could be the time.

Not everyone in Australia is always watching TV at the same time! :? All the same, I do agree with you lijijil - while they dont reflect what everyone in Australia is watching, they reflect what happens to shows that air so they still have some relevancy!
