The past week was another strong win to Seven. TEN again came a disappointing 4th and its now habit that this network is going to come 4th not 3rd. TEN have really stuffed this up big time. Homeland only got 634k which is awful for a series which was doing well over 1m viewers. TEN really have no idea if you ask me.

Seven won every night except Thursday which was won by Nine. Nine won 16-39, Seven won 18-49 and 25-54. Seven won the main channels, 7TWO took out the multi channels while 7mate took out the HD channels.

Seven won every city in Total People except in Melbourne where its early evening schedule is losing badly to Nine. It’s now a network anomaly, with some numbers the worst in over five years.

Also Friday and Saturday failed to have any show over the magic million mark which is a way the ratings are headed by the looks of things.

The best for the week was The X Factor Results show featuring Psy and his Gangnam Style with 1.67m. The performance show scored 1.49m while Sunday Night got a healthy 1.36m, the finale of Anh Does Vietnam got 1.32m, Seven News Sunday scored 1.2m on Sunday, 1.04m on weeknights, Surveillance Oz got 1.12m, Winners and Losers 1.1m and Highway Patrol 1.05m.

Over at Nine only 3 shows topped the magic million mark with 60 Minutes getting 1.37m, House Husbands and NEW Big Bang Theory with 1.01m. Nine News got 937k on Sunday and 995k during the week but it thumped Seven News in Melbourne by a substantial margin. Other results included Big Brother Live Nominations 987k, ACA on 934k and The Mentalist 800k.

The best for ABC was Four Corners with 1.03m, Gruen Planet 1.02m, ABC News Weeknights 1.02m and beating Nine News, New Tricks 990k, Australian Story 984k, Jack Irish 953k, Media Watch 940k and The Hamster Wheel 855k.

Over on TEN it was another sad week with very few highlights. The best was a new Modern Family episode with 850k followed by NCIS 789k, Homeland 634k, TEN News 619k, Law and Order: SVU 576k, NCIS: LA 574k, Jamie’s Thirty Minute Meals 564k and Merlin 558k.

On SBS the best was Coast with 307k, Battle Castle got 297k, Who Do You Think You Are? 293k, She Wolves: England’s Early Queens 278k and Destination Flavour 256k.

With only 6 weeks to go Seven are going to win the year but it looks like Nine will win all 3 key demos mostly thanks to Big Brother and The Voice.

In a tight race on Sunday the winner was Seven but TEN again filled 4th place despite a number of fast-tracked shows on its so called Super Sunday.

Sunday Night took the #1 spot with 1.38m with Seven News on 1.16m, Air Ways 1.07m, Border Security 1.05m, Bones 792k the V8's got 627k and Killing Times double episode got 395k and 290k.

Over on Nine 60 Minutes led the way with 1.24m, Nine News was next with 1.01m, House Husbands 944k, Big Brother on 911k (something TEN must being going WTF did we let this one go), The Mentalist 647k and Person of Interest got just 324k.

Over at the ABC David Attenborough's Kingdom of Plants got 972k followed my The Making of Kingdom of Plants on 909k, ABC News 875k, Jack Irish got 851k and Compass got 348k.

TEN's woes continued but Modern Family is on the rise with 908k, Homeland got to 712k, Merlin 561k, The New Normal got 552k, Ten News 499k, Vegas a measly 309k and The Project got 300k.

Battle Castle was best for SBS with 256k followed by The Smartest Machine on Earth on 218k and World News Australia with 156k.

The Year that was 2012. It was a good year all round. Seven took overall honours while Nine took all 3 demos this year a bit of a repeat of 2010 i think it was.

The Voice was on top for the highest rating of the year followed by the AFL Grand Final Presentation, The Blocks Winner Announced, The AFL Grand Final and My Kitchen Rules Grand Final.

The top 5 regular programming included The Voice in a number of spots, Revenge, Downton Abbey, The Block and My Kitchen Rules.

In Sport The AFL Grand Final took the top 2 spots, followed by the Melbourne Cup, State of Origin decider and the NRL Grand Final.

Overall Revenge dominated drama followed by Downton Abbey and Packed to the Rafters proving Seven is the place for drama. Underbelly and House Husbands rounds out the top 5 with Winners and Losers in 6th.

In comedy The Big Bang Theory topped it followed by Modern Family, Mrs Browns Boys, New Girl and How I Met Your Mother.

In the reality stakes it was all The Block, My Kitchen Rules, Masterchef Australia, Biggest Loser and Big Brother all topping out the top 5. I guess this explains why The Voice and X Factor are in Light Entertainment. Sorry but The Voice and X Factor ARE REALITY SHOWS!!! WHAT THE F***.

In the "Light Entertainment" stakes and i say that loosely, The Voice and X Factor dominated while others included Ahn Do, Hamish and Andy and Australia's Got Talent (why did you let this go Seven)

Seven won in the news and current affairs stakes overall but we all know Seven lost both Sydney and Melbourne markets to Nine. Sunday Night beat 60 Minutes overall too.

It was a year of huge highs and very big lows. What will 2013 bring? To me it seems Seven have the drama stakes while Nine has reality and TEN have the nothingness. :<| Bring on 2013 a year where things get interesting. I personally think Seven will have the most overall good schedule and will again win 2013 but anything is bound to happen. Its TV.

Spoiler: show

Revealing …..the “hidden” ratings numbers

The power of submission lies not in the ability to kneel before another, to give over one's body or in the wearing of a collar.
The power of submission can be found only in the heart of one who gives her love to another freely knowing what joy and pain will come of it - Roguer

7TWO out rates TEN

7TWO scored record ratings on Saturday night as Bernard Tomic took victory at the APIA International over South African Kevin Anderson.

7TWO pulled an average of 555,000 viewers, giving the network a whopping 11.1% channel share.

That was enough to pip TEN’s primary channel share of 10.8%.

It was the second largest-ever audience for a digital channel in Australia.

This is the first time in Australian television history that local Live sport on a digital channel has defeated a free to air primary channel.

Say no more. IMO that is clear and utter failure regardless of it being summer.

To last night and Masterchef Professionals premiered to 1.165m which is pretty good for Channel Ten right now. I watched it this morning (and really enjoyed it) as i watched an epic battle of tennis last night which drew nearly 900k for its entirety. Very impressive figures. The early session of the cricket got 945k but the rain delay meant that viewers switched off.

Nine News topped the night with 1.5m while Seven News came in 2nd spot with 1.24m and Seven Brisbane's new look team won by just 1,000 viewers. I still think its a brave move to change newsreaders if you ask me. Upstairs Downstairs on ABC scored 657k while Downton Abbey topped the multichannels although will be adjusted since it didn't air in Perth with 239k. Pirates also scored well for 7mate with 218k.

A few other results for last night included ABC News on 761k, Restoration Home on 627k and Just for Laughs - Montreal Comedy Festival Gala on 508k

With just 3 weeks until regular ratings return its going to be a bumper year. Next week on Seven will see Packed to the Rafters, How I Met Your Mother and My Kitchen Rules the 3 major shows returning plus tonight sees the return of Home and Away.
