Didnt realise we had an HBO thread. Grown very fond of them over the years, always having consistantly excellent shows: Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, True Blood, Big Love, Treme, Curb Your Enthusiasm - and thats just in the last 12 months! Not to mention The Sopranos, Deadwood, In Treatment, Oz and The Wire.

Ive read that Aaron Sorkin has a tv project in development "More as the Story Develops" starring Jeff Daniels - ive always thought his shows belonged on cable, Sports Night and Studio 60 wouldve been much better off i think. Julia Louis Dreyfus has a new show Veep, i believe the team behind The Think Of It and In The Loop are responsible for that show so that'll be good to see!

It WAS and IS a good idea.

I think he created a show....not a perfect one, but what show is?

It really isn't. :P

But let's just agree to disagree. I'll take the angry mobsters; you take the angsty, pouty vampires. ;)

Vampires are being tainted, I tells ya.

Thank God for Let The Right One In and Thirst (the Korean film). Someone's got to restore some god-dang dignity (and fear) to the vampire legend.

While i do enjoy True Blood, i must agree i too miss the days when people were terrified of Vampires and didnt think they were attractive and romantic. I wish Bela Legosi was still alive (really impossible i know) :( he'd show these young girls why they should be afarid of vampires!

Vampires have always had an erotic element to them. Has no one read Dracula?

And I do watch True Blood, but I haven't really enjoyed it since season one. Then it was a true guilty pleasure, now it's just a mess.

Ive seen plenty of the movies and yes there is an erotic element but not so much romantic and chick flicky like the awful twilight movies are. its really quite offensive to watch, but that could just be cause of the dreadful acting and the laughable dialogue though.

I haven't seen Twilight yet ;:. But I like some of the others like The Vampire Diaries . Craig Ferguson refers to the current trend as the "sexy vegan vampires".

But True Blood has been much improved recently. Once all the hot shot grossness was over, they have been on a creative upswing. Or is it just because there is more Jessica ;:.

So now we have True Blood and Curb. Then Boardwalk Empire resumes. Top stuff.
