Then -

ESPN has revealed details on “Creating a Legend” mode which will represent another usage of Michael Jordan in NBA 2K11 (not to be confused with NBA Elite 11′s “Become Legendary”). The single-player “Creating a Legend” mode will be unlocked once all 10 of the scenarios in “The Jordan Challenge” are completed and involves introducing a rookie version of Michael Jordan into today’s NBA. The user is locked into controlling Jordan just as in the “My Player” to progress throughout this new career.

Yep :D, The 2K series has been my preference over Live (now elite) for many years now. I purchased 2K5 and 2K7 straight away on ps2. Oddly enough i went backwards and picked up 2K6 on the 360, before i got 2K8. Skipped 2K9 (as i was too slow and it wound up being sold out everywhere FOR MONTHS!!), purchased 2K10 when it was released (loved it so much, i initially purchased the 360 version, picked it up on the ps3 during the christmas sales period).

Again the funny thing is that even though i held out and didn't initially buy 2K9...... i still purchased it a month or so after i picked up 2K10 - it was very cheap and i thought it was a good alternative to play, while waiting for 2K10 to get some issues fixed in a patch release.

Looking forward to 2K11, the Jordan factor is a high selling point.... i havn't been able to make a good Jordan "created player" since Total NBA '97 on the original playstation.

Just a heads up as well that for the first time (I think) since the NBA 2K series has started Amazon.com are shipping it outside of the US so you can buy it from there. :D

The past two years since I got off the NBA Live series and started buying 2K Amazon didn't ship it here and I had to wait for our release. I think they realize that with the Jordan factor they would sell so many more copies if they expanded to ship it overseas as well. The last 2 years I would find myself getting bored and selling the game after 5-6 months, but I think this one is definitely a keeper. :D

Has anyone bought this yet, any first impressions? Mine is on its way shortly via the courier so I'll get straight into it.

I was always going to buy the game but Michael Jordan's presence in the game was a big selling point. Cant wait to play as the classic Bulls teams and put the highest rated Jordan on the current Bulls team. :D Talk about unfair.

My copie(s) are on their way

That's right, i made the snap decision to order both ps3 and xbox 360 versions in one hit - i purchased 2K10 TWICE within a month last year :P. I have done it a few times in the past, but not as many in this generation of consoles (eg: Batman: AA, NBA 2K10, Fifa 09 + 10 and Modern Warfare 2).

I saw some preview footage where they meshed the real life video with the video game representation, looked pretty good. Drool worthy even.

I've been playing the game since I got it this afternoon and WOW!!!

I haven't been able to tear myself away from the Michael Jordan challenge mode. 2K have basically created two seperate games, NBA 2k11 and a Michael Jordan Basketball game. After you complete all 10 challenges you can place MJ on any current NBA roster from his rookie year (or apparently you can choose any Jordan) and play through 20 seasons.

This is easily the best NBA 2K game and the best Basketball game period. The attention to detail with all the classic teams, stadiums and players is excellent. Like the Bulls play the 1990 Detroit Pistons team who had a tattoo-less Dennis Rodman, then fast forward to 1997 when the Bulls had Rodman and he has red hair and his arms are covered with tattoos in that game.
