Can't wait for the Monkey Island 2 Special Edition... :)

And the third season of Sam and Max has, thus far, been unwaveringly awesome.

Can't wait for Jurassic Park and Back to the Future games too. Should make for an interesting change of pace for Telltale.

The temptation can be very difficult ;) I ended up getting a PS3 because of a couple of games. Uncharted was one of them

Mercury wrote:How long did Alan Wake take to finish? I'm thinking about hiring it for a week from the video store, is a week enough time? Can it be done quicker? (PS I'd be going for 1000/1000)

It took me about a week (afterhours in the evening).... but that was only on the easy level.

To achieve all the medals / points... you need to complete the "Nightmare" level of play....and I wouldn't know how long that would take me at this point. :o ;)

I'd hire it for a couple of weeks.

The amount of top games being released at the moment is huge:
FIFA 12
Battlefield 3
COD: MW 3
Skyrim
Assassins Creed: Revelations
Halo CE: Anniversary
Saints Row 3

All within the space of a few weeks, this has to be one of the great times in gaming history.

BTW: Skyrim will win GOTY and I would say is probably the biggest release since WOW.

I agree.

Next year looks to be just as good. In the first 3 months Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Dragons Dogma are coming out. Both are definitely games to look out for.

I just donated $250 to have Double Fine's (Psychonauts, Brutal Legend) first point'n'click adventure game get made! The target is $400,000 by March 13; and one day after opening (at time of posting this) it's at $343,464. :)

Over a six-to-eight month period, a small team under Tim Schafer's supervision will develop Double Fine's next game, a classic point-and-click adventure. Where it goes from there will unfold in real time for all the backers to see.

2 Player Productions will be documenting the creative process and releasing monthly video updates exclusively to the Kickstarter backers. This documentary series will strive to make the viewer as much a part of the process as possible by showing a game grow from start to finish, with all the passion, humor, and heartbreak that happens along the way. Double Fine is committed to total transparency with this project, ensuring it is one of the most honest depictions of game development ever conceived.

There will be a private online community set up for the backers to discuss the project with the devs and submit their thoughts and feelings about the game's content and direction, sometimes even voting on decisions when the dev team can't decide. Backers will also have access to help test the game once a beta is available. Once the game is finished, backers will receive the completed version in the available format of their choice.

For fans of adventure games, this is a chance to prove that there is still a large demand out there for a unique medium that inspired so many of us.

Apparently, I'll be getting a poster signed by Tim Shaffer and Ron Gilbert! Huzzah!

So excited it's ridiculous.
