I've been researching the "big retune" that's due next Tuesday.

Don't panic people, it's only SBS that's changing frequencies. You can do a manual scan (input frequency 184.5MHz) and you won't lose all your favourites and timer settings. ooX No need to do a full scan.
The power of submission lies not in the ability to kneel before another, to give over one's body or in the wearing of a collar.

I saw what you posted on FB and clicked the link. It says our area has good coverage, does that mean we'll be okay?

You'll still have to re-scan to get SBS, as it's changing frequencies. Other channels should be ok.

TV, PVR and set top box all re-tuned. Easy!

Doing the TV in the bedroom now ... ... done!
And now the main TV downstairs ... ... Hmmmm, not so easy this one. There's no menu as such on the remote control. This could take longer.

Now I need to find where to re-set region to look for SBS. I seem to remember having to do this when we first got the TV. I have a black screen on all SBS channels downstairs, but I have all on the TV upstairs. 2 different typs of TV.

Phew, finally did it. Forgot we had to reset the channels on the PS3 too!

My mum-in-law tried to do a scan on her tv and ended up with region Germany (!!??) and no channels at all!
She got someone in paid him $50 and he did both tvs but she needs a new antenna - the old one is at least 10 years old and she gets picture problems whenever a plane goes over :D

We were saying it wouldn't be such an easy job for an elderly person.

Not many people I know had to do it as they have Foxtel
