My avast antivirus just alerted me (while I wasn't even on the laptop) that a trojan had been detected. I did a virus scan and it picked up a whole load of them attacking my programs. I removed them as they were detected in to the virus chest, but don't know what to do with them from there. My Advance System Care was attacked as was Flash Player, which I've uninstalled both. I just tried to reinstall Advance System Care, but as soon a I go to download, the antivirus alarm goes off telling me to abort download. Any answers?

I just spoke to the man who usually mends my computer, and he suggested I install malware bytes, which I have, and is running right now, and so far nothing has been detected.

Is it safe to delete everything in the chest, or could that harm my computer or stop things from working?

I have no idea what some of it is.

Right, the malware bites has detected no virus, BUT still I don't know what to do with all the infected things in the chest as, like I siad, i don't know what half of them are.

I've done a screen print to see if anyone can tell me if there's things I shouldn't delete.

Can I suggest that you do a search for specific removal tools for the two viruses listed.

As long as the viruses are 'quaratined' then they should not spread.

You may, and I will.

If I delete all those files will it stop something from working somewhere?

EDIT - just googled both. They both sound nasty. Thank goodness my antivirus picked them up and I quarantined them.

Going to delete the whole lot!

Just leave them in the vault for the time being until you run the removal tools ...

There aren't any removal tools, just manual, but the scan says there's nothing bad there?

I've run malware bytes, avast antivirus, and now the avast cleaner tool, and there's nothing coming up BUT when I try to download and reinstall flash player and advance system care, the antivirus alarm rings and tells me to abort. So it's picking up on soemthing.

Right. I've scanned and scanned and scanned, and still nothing shows up.

I tried downloading the trojan removal tool, and as soon as I went to run it, my antivirus alarm rang saying it was a virus. Anyone know why this would be?

I was having the same dramas with my avast today. Apparently the latest update has a few bugs which is causing it to have false positives for viruses. So it will be telling you that you have a virus when you don't. Avast is working on it so hopefully it should be fixed soon!!

Thanks for that!

Now, I also have avast on my desktop and have had no problems on that!

What sort of problems did you have?

I found this on another forum

[quote:aaea8c6161]
Seems AVAST received a bad update and now its giving FALSE POSITIVES about almost all my programs like Skype, Spybot Search & Destroy, and etc.

If you have AVAST and getting these virus popups saying that important programs like Spybot are trojans don't delete the file.
