today (may 19) i saw a story on ACA about buying off ebay and how people have had problems with it such as fake items, items that don't work or items that never came in the mail.

i buy and sell off ebay but only dvds. this story was about phones, computers & jewellery. i always buy COD because on the story people
paid first and never got the item like this lady who paid just over $1200 for a laptop and never got it. she then contacted ebay and they didn't do anything about it.

so i was just wondering,

[b:43415306f6]has anyone else here on this board had trouble like that on Ebay??[/b:43415306f6]

I buy and sell on Ebay. I have had instances where goods have not been delivered, which is why I will only pay via PayPal. If they don't have PayPal, they don't get my business.

My uncle bought a $18,000 motorcycle on there, only to discover it was a scam. But he was pretty smart about it, he didn't get caught by it, and he didn't lose any money.

These people need to stop trying to rip people off and get a [i:1983d75516]real[/i:1983d75516] job. I doubt these people have ever done an honest days work in their lives.

Selling on eBay [i:4bd793bbde]is[/i:4bd793bbde] a real job. It's a sign of the times, and some people make millions through it.

I'm addicted to eBay, never sold anything but I'm constantly buying and have never had any problems with any products apart from the over zealous sellers who won't stop bugging you about payment. I recently had one guy, despite his listing saying payment is to be made within 14 working days, emailed me 3 times a day every day until I paid. This was after day 1, I paid by day 4

No, I don't have a problem with the people running an eBay shop and selling things, that's a perfectly acceptable job, I don't have a problem with that.

I was referring to those people who try and rip others off and scam them, by selling items and never sending them, stuff like that. They're the ones that... [quote:409bcab734="St Jimmy"]need to stop trying to rip people off and get a [i:409bcab734]real[/i:409bcab734] job.[/quote:409bcab734]

only ever had a problem with 2 urchases from ebay. My first purchase it took me 6 weeks to get the goods and it was only after i requested her contact details that she returned my emails. In the end I did get my "Pass Out" board game  The other problem I had was where the postage charge was stated in the ad, but when I won the auction, the guy tried to tell me that it would actually cost more so he would need to up the price of the postage. So I asked him how much the package weighed, and he replied that he would send it for the price stated in the ad. He got a neutral feedback and in it I did say that he tried to up the postage. The first one, well she just got a negative even though she'd left a positive feedback for me. I'm one of those people that pays straight away, as I figure if I do right, then the seller most likely will too :D
