The other day we had a death in the family. It was all over the news.

Mary is my Dad's cousins daughter. You never expect one of these tragedies you hear on the news to hit so close to home.

Oh dear SF, that's so sad. I did see that on the news. Hope your family are recovering from the tragedy.

It is devastating news for sure. My parents haven't seen Mary in about 10 years and didn't know her husband but are close with both her parents. Mary's dad visits from time to time when he's down and her mother calls my parents often. It's a story that is so tragic whether you know the family involved or not. An 18-month old and 12-week old living the rest of their lives without their father (as adults we can't comprehend that, let alone 2 young children who knew this person for a long time) and a wife losing her husband. It's beyond tragic.

Edit: I missed your post Ilis. Thank you, it's much appreciated.

Saw a guy dislocate his knee while trying to slog a ball and got cleaned up, it was not pretty to see it happen

A bit of a back tooth broke off yesterday. I'd only noticed the split a few hours before. Going to the dentist this afternoon. Hopefully it's just a matter of some decay in that one tooth & a simple bit of white filling. First visit in about 4 years (mostly due to laziness after moving to a new area). :?
