Are you a morning person, afternoon person, or an night owl? Just when do you function at your best?

I have met people who get out of bed like a half resurrected zombie, and refuse to talk, smile or do anything remotely more strenuous than pouring their first glass of coffee. Then later on, total personality change! Its as if there's somebody home now, and the lights are switched on ;-)

You've summed me up perfectly there!
My brain literally does not function for a couple of hours after sleeping. When I wake up, I sometimes even lie in bed going "Where am I, or for that matter [i:b9788b215f]who [/i:b9788b215f]am I?" If anyone talks to me pre-coffee, well let's just say, nobody makes that mistake twice. I have to do the quick crossword [i:b9788b215f]and[/i:b9788b215f] the cryptic crossword, before my brain finally wakes up.
It's not until it's dark again that my creativity fires up -and then I'm up half the night thinking about all the ideas buzzing around in my head. Which leads to insommnia, which in turn leads to an even grumpier me the next morning. :(

I function fine in the morning when it reaches past 1am I'm done for, i just want to collapse where i stand, thats why i struggle when we go out to the club at night i find it so hard to stay awake, im usually yawning by 11pm. midnight is a good time to wrap up the clubbing for me, my friends all bag me out, but its because i wake up so early, not because i want to but because my body tells me to.

Night is my time. The kids are asleep, house is quiet and I can unwind uninterrupted.
My mind works best in the morning though...

Definitely afternoon. I'm not completely non-functional in the mornings, but afternoons are definitely better for me, and I start flagging again in the evening. I don't have much energy at all.

Funny that, cos most clubs don't go off until 2am ;-)

Having said that I am a combined morning and afternoon person. As soon as I leap out of bed I am rearing to go and start multitasking straight away. I guess I've been trained to do that in my job, where sometimes I get waken at ungodly hours for an urgent conference or something, so I am expected to function 100% as soon as my eyelids snap open.

Afternoons are fine, and nights are good until 11pm, thats when I fatigue from all the activities during the day. When I go clubbing I can stay a lot longer than midnight purely because I am fuelled by additives and the atmosphere is such that it keeps you buzzing until you literally drop.

Could that additive you are talking about be goat sperm, DTW? :P

Yeah, add another to that list dude; unless you were of course talking about me in the first place.

it takes me ages to get ready in the morning, I live about 7 minutes from work and I still get up an hour and a half early. I just don't want to do anything.

Apart form grabbing my pixie drink and coffee, generally Illl just sit down and watch the Simpsons on Fox8 for a while, slowly gaining the will and desire to pour a bowl of cereal.

Pretty soon, Im ready to start walking around and talking to the other humans I live with.

Adrenalin is a funny thing though. If I wake up late for work, I can do all of the above and get to work in under 12 minutes; and that includes a shower, breakfast in the car and the journey which becomes just under 300 seconds!

Not the mention calculating stuff like all that in my head at the same time...
