That is just bizarre. It must be awful for the relatives of all on board. It has to have something to do with the men who boarded with stolen passports.

I am not to certain of that ... I think that is coincidental.

The thing that is strange is that if this was some sort of terrorist attack why has no one claimed responsibility other than that hoax claim from an organisation that has never been heard of.

I suppose there is a distinct possibility that the plane has somehow landed somewhere and there is something wrong with the electrical.

There was one report that someone called their relatives phone and it answered but then went dead.

This is all very very odd and Bermuda Triangle ish.

UFO abduction?

No, seriously. it is odd that the communication just went dead, like they just went off the radar. Maybe it just exploded, surely out of all those on board if it'd landed in the middle of nowhere at least someone could get a message through - unless it's deep in a forest/jungle somewhere. If it wasn't a terrorist thing, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't just blow up. Horrible, whatever happened.

My bet is it exploded mid air due to a mechanical malfunction. I don't believe all the conspiracy theories out there that this was a terrorist attack. This actual plane had had difficulties in the past and i believe that was a contributing factor. Look until the wreckage is found we won't really know. If it was a terrorist attack then what lowlifes would do such a thing. Its a tragedy a real tragedy and horrible to whatever or however it happened.

If we're really going to go conspiracy theories, LOST anyone? Oh wait Zeal has the same idea.

As I have said it is all very odd ... and all the relatives who are ringing their loved ones phones to hear them ring out ... it is all very odd.

I guess until they find the wreckage or the survivors we will never know.

I must admit I'm with Greys on this now. The only reasonable explanation is that it just blew up due to some malfunction.

Just because the two holders of false passports are no longer thought to be terrorists doesn't mean that terrorism can be excluded. Some years ago a jumbo-jet suddenly disappeared from radar screens and without any Mayday type messages from the plane. It turned out that someone had booked a flight, got his baggage checked on, but did not board himself. The content of the suitcase included a stereo filled with semtex, a timer and ignition device. The explosion basically blew the front section of the plane to smithereens, and with it all control and communications equipment.

Security procedures are always being improved, but people always find ways around them.
