The 2013 Federal Election

Well, today (June 8th) means we are currently 14 Saturday's away from the 2013 Federal election.

I expect the rhetoric will increase as the weeks get closer and closer until the writs are issued which means campaigning can officially start.

Dates to watch ... June 27th will be the final sitting day of this current parliament. The scheduled parliamentary sittings days in late August will not happen because parliament will be in caretaker mode. I guess in essence from June 28th 2013 we will be in full election mode although having an 80 day+ election campaign is never a good idea.

If you look at all the postings on Facebook you will see a miriade of MEMES telling people to in essence not to vote Liberal but there are very very few that say vote Labour.

Personally I think the Government made a big mistake in naming the election date for September because the only way we could vote earlier (August 3rd 2013) would be with a Vote of No Confidence winning but that is highly unlikely that the LNP would move such a motion unless they are assured of a clear win.

I am interested to see who we all think will win. The poll is not who you will vote for but who you think will win.

Me personally have not yet decided who I will vote for in my electorate until I see who the candidates will be but I can say that my local member will not be at the top of my list.

What does concern me is the constant attention whoring former labor leader kevin rudd seems to be doing
He went to geelong yesterday trying to sympathise with the geelong car manufacturing company trying to reassure them to vote for labor and that the labor party will take care of them.
Who does kevin rudd think he is? He is clearly delusional!
Thankfully, if labor gets voted out of office, we will see less of him

I would like to say NONE OF THE ABOVE as my answer. Australian politics whatever side you are on and i don't care what anyone says to me, they are all full of bullcrap and personally this country would be better off run by monkeys right now. Abbott is a wingnut and Gillard is an idiot. Don't get me started on the others. This country is going to hell for whoever we vote for.

It's a sad state of affairs that all choices are completely abysmal.
There is no "good" option in my electorate. I even looked at the Clive Palmer mob but they seem to be a bunch of godbotherers (never a good thing) :?

sigh! I am really sick of the Australian politics at the moment. All the ''MAN V WOMAN drama'' over the last day or two is just over-bearing. Can they just stop picking on each other and go back to governing the nation?

With the battle of the sexes today, Kevin Rudd wore a blue tie today, and the media went into over-drive! Saying crap like ''how dare him wear a blue tie - doesn't he know that blue represents men'' and such.

I will be glad once the election is over
(ps - seems like most news reports can also be put into the ''non-news-story'' in the general forum)! lol

^^. Really? I wasn't paying attention (I tune out from this sort of sh*t) but heard "blue tie" mentioned a couple of times and wondered what the significance was. Politics is being played out by 5 year olds atm - aided and abetted by the pathetic news service.

I am so over the media speculations of a leadership spill ... clearly the media have an agenda despite a majority of the Labour MPs pledging support to the Prime Minister.

No kidding. It's a variation of the decades old "Labor Splits" headlines that kept getting trotted out by the Murdoch/Packer media duopoly. Have a guess where their sympathies lie?

As for the attached poll, who are the jokers who pretend they think the Clive Palmer United Australia Party will win the election?

They are clearly jokers ... I will be surprised if his party gets 0.000001% of the vote :)
