Looking forward to these especially considering the next ones are on the Gold Coast. Its always good to see the Aussies win and usually we dominate the Comm Games. TEN though seem to have the strategy of the Winter Olympics with the tenplay live streaming which was great during the Winter Olympics, when they worked properly, but only one channel screening events at one time during the normal days events as to what TEN want to show. Will be interesting to see how they rate as i remember Dehli was a huge flop for TEN but then those games were tainted with so many issues.

All i can say is there is going to be some long nights coming up.

TEN’s exclusive coverage of the XX Commonwealth Games begins on Thursday July 24.

TEN will broadcast more than 260 hours across TEN and ONE from Glasgow. In addition there will be eight dedicated digital channels on tenplay.com.au.

TEN’s presentation team includes Mel McLaughlin, Ian Thorpe, Matt White, Brad McEwan, Nicole Livingstone, Rob DeCastella, David Culbert, Melinda Gainsford-Taylor, Liz Ellis, Sharelle McMahon, Matt Burke, Gordon Bray, Greg Rust, Mark Howard, Lachy Reid, Peter Donegan and Ian Cohen.

Network Ten Head of Sport, David Barham, said: “The Glasgow Games are on track to be one of the most memorable Commonwealth Games ever and Network Ten is delighted to bring all the action to Australians with some of the country’s most successful athletes.

“The combination of TEN, ONE and tenplay, as well as our experienced presenters and commentators, will ensure that Network Ten’s coverage of this international sporting event is comprehensive, compelling and engaging.”

Jessica Mauboy will perform at the Flag Handover Ceremony during the Closing Ceremony, to mark the official handover to the Gold Coast in 2018.

Live coverage begins daily at 6pm AEST on ONE and continues until 9:30pm most nights when it switches to TEN and continues overnight until 8:30am AEST.

Replays will broadcast on ONE during the daytime.

The scheduling has been built around the timezone differences. The majority of Finals will take place from 2am AEST. This means general entertainment titles will still play on TEN daytimes until around 9:30pm on most nights.

A TEN spokesperson told TV Tonight, “TEN will continue with its current program schedule which includes all new episodes of Family Feud, The Project, Offspring, Extant, 24: Live Another Day, Under The Dome, MasterChef Australia and others, as well as new seasons of The Bachelor Australia. ONE’s coverage of the XX Commonwealth Games will include any live sport during this time.”

However with the exception of the final night, there is also no alternative coverage on ONE when TEN switches to Live coverage. It seems strange that the HD sports channel will screen repeats of Law & Order: SVU and Blokesworld during this time -and I suspect viewers will weigh in with opinions here.

“The format, time difference and the event schedule of the 11 days of competition works for a unified broadcast,” said the spokesperson.

It wasn't a bad Opening Ceremony but for me it quite different and no offence here but why did they feel it necessary to shove Unicef down our throats? I'm all for helping people but i think for an opening ceremony it wasn't great. Sorry Glasgow. There were a few good points but i wasn't that impressed.

Been watching but TEN's coverage has been absolutely WOEFUL! All we keep getting is interview after interview after story after story after lets have a chat on the couch. Its bad, very bad.

What's worse is it looks like England will beat us for the first time at the games since 1986. We won 74 GOLD At the last Comm Games. Currently we have 36.

I have only been flicking over occasionally and all I ever see is couch interview, or some repeat, Ian Thorpe, hockey or netball. Boring.
Yesterday I caught a Brit receiving his gold and stayed to watch (the English chose Jerusalem for their medal music - looooove Jerusalem.) Best bit so far. :?

Admittedly an entirely different animal, but after Foxtel's last fantastic Olympic coverage, expectations are higher.
