The 1st test between Australia and West Indies looks to be a good one. At stumps on day 2 WI are 9/449 declared and Australia 0/44, with a lot of the play being rained out. I must say though I don't know why the WI declared when their 10th wicket partnership was 28. That didn't make sense.

Does anyone here understand the principle of the game of cricket?

Most people here would watch the T20, because they think it takes 5 days to play this English sport, and a lot of the time, there is no winner after all that

But that is cricket-lite

T20 is fine if all you want is smash, bash and run which can be fun, but I much prefer the 50 over one day game. It gives time to plan tactics and you still get the smash and bash ;)

Test matches...meh. I can't sit and watch batsmen play little tommee tippee hits all day. I think 5 days is too long, what happened to three day test matches? :D
The power of submission lies not in the ability to kneel before another, to give over one's body or in the wearing of a collar.
The power of submission can be found only in the heart of one who gives her love to another freely knowing what joy and pain will come of it - Roguer

I love how tense a game of test cricket can become

Its a slow burner especially at the beginning of a match (between 2 good teams), when nobody knows what it will be like at the end

However, in the end: when 1 team with no chance of winning fights to the bitter end with whatever they have left, to stop the other team from winning.

The aesthetical appeal goes out the game, and it becomes a bitter quest of time ->

I love a good cricket test. There's no way we sit and watch it hour after agonising hour, but you can catch bits here and there over the 5 days. Lots of subtleties and changes of fortunes ... can be good stuff. Also bs boring ... that's when you find something else to do. ;)
Used to like One dayers more when they first started - WSC and all - but a bit over it in the last few years.
Hate 20/20. A game invented for the instant gratification generation. BS boring watching guys slog the ball. It must be soul destroying to be a bowler.

Indeed. Had no thought that SA woulhomage a hope of holding out for the draw. Great effort, but it really showed up the lack of real quality in Aus bowling.

Yeh, but the tail end of a test match (because it took 5 days to build up/ get to that point) is epic!

Oh and this man->
