I was actually in Canberra when they announced this, with no access to pay-tv in my hotel room, so I had to listen to it through my walkman.
I did watch the foreign news services on SBS to see how the various European countries reported it. Spain was the most important one, as it had reactions from Madrid and Copenhagen.

Definitely not me.

Last Olympics was on foxtel and EVERY sport was covered in its entirity - so I could watch what I was interested in and could laugh at the c**p on fta. Amazingly I still got to see how the Aussies were going in the sports I don't care to watch 24/7.
No foxtel coverage this year so "my" sports won't be featured so not much Olympics for me.
And I loathe the jingoistic "stories" that masquerade as sports coverage.

Will give me a chance to catch up on recordings.

Love it. I don't get to watch much athletic or swimming and stuff normally, so it will be a good chance to catch up on what's going on.

i'll be tuning in most nights. I like the Olympics.

I get to watch some sports I generally wouldn't watch any other time of the year.

the Olympics are now done and dusted.

Australia came in 10th position in the Medal Tally. USA in first, as expected.

I enjoyed the tournament overall. Most sports I liked watched, with only a handful of sports I sadly couldn't get into.

Channel Seven (and SevenMate and Seven Two) did a good job overall. Commentators were great. Hosts Mel McLaughlin could have done better (a few stumbles here and there), but the other hosts did a good job.

Now... only four years to go until the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Bring it on :)
