Kvitova blew Bouchard off the court. Was not expecting it to be so one sided. Well done to her. It meant a lot it seems.

As for tonights match well I hate Federer. He is so up himself. Hope Djokovic wins. He's off to a bad start though just losing the tie-breaker in the first.

What a final that was!

Too bad I slept through it all because of the awful time zone Australia has compared to London :?

the time zone for us was bad. Slept through it too! lol.

I did see the highlights today, and looked like a great match. Am happy that Djokovic won.

On another note - Sam Stosur may have lost her round one singles match, but she did win the Mixed Doubles Final over night. Good on her :)

Wimbledon should just be changed to a General tennis thread

Speaking of Tennis, Roger Federer has achieved everything in Tennis, by winning Switzerland its first ever Davis Cup

The "Summer of Tennis" is well in action.

Poland beat the USA in Perth's Hopman Cup, which the Final was played last night. The Brisbane International, Maria Sharapova won the Female Final, while the Men's Final is currently playing (Federer v Raonic).

The APIA "Sydney" International began tonight. It was supposed to start at 11am, but there was a rain delay, and games began from 6pm onwards. I was meant to go there with a friend today, but realised that there would be a long delay. I will try go to the tournament later in the week.

I think there has been good use in Seven's multi-channels for these events.

The Hopman Cup this year has definitely been the best i've seen in years. So many great matches. The Radwanska/Cornet match was incredible and the final was great too even with the controversy. I was really glad to see Poland win. Brisbane had a good finale too. I'm no Federer fan as i think he's a bit up himself but to notch up 1000 wins is crazy!

In the women's i wanted to see Ivanovic win but it was a great match none the less. As for Stosur she choked again in the first round. Its such a shame because there is something in that brain of hers that hinders her. I hope she can find what that is for the future. Last April she nearly quit the sport because of it. I'd like to see her do well at the Open this year.

I didn't watch any of the hopman cup this year.

I have enjoyed the Aussie Open, some very good matches, Kyrigios did really well to get to the Quarter Finals, hopefully he can continue on the rise along with Kokkinakis and maybe even Tomic too!

Roland Garros (the french open) is on right now

Its the least popular grand slam (to Australians) due to the language barrier, but its the US Open which is the most inaccessible to the timezone of Australia, all the play in Flushing Meadows (for the day sessions) takes place during the non-waking hours

The night sessions are alright though, its on between breakfast and finishes sometime in the early afternoon here

Serena Williams (USA) beat Garbine Muguruza from Spain last night. I watched the match last night. To be honest, I haven't heard of Muguruza prior to this tournament, but she did well in the second set.

Tonight, Novak Djokovic plays Roger Federer in the Men's Final
