Do you ever flick around the TV on a Sunday afternoon and when you get to the ABC you see a game of netball and think to yourself; "Why?"

I know I do.

Well I could flick around the stations and wonder why to a lot of things on there. Netball is not pointless if you enjoy it, it's just the same as someone not enjoying the football and wondering why.

Consider yourself fortunate. Here in the UK, one of the five terrestrial channels (BBC2) has been showing blanket coverage of snooker for the past fortnight. It runs from early morning right through until midnight, and alas, there's a few tournaments a year. And when it's not snooker, it's darts, and when it's not darts, it's indoor bowls. Absolutely tragic

At least netball has that eye candy factor

A lot of sports could be considered pointless, i mean whats the point of trying to hit a ball across a net, or get a ball to one end a field? What i wanna know is, why do a lot of sports revolve around a ball of some description? :)
Sydney: Forgive me for being forthright, or female, but this is the way it's going to be.

Well I guess a sport being pointless is just a point of view. I know I personally think Cricket to be pointless, however there are millions of cricket fans around the globe who might disagree with me ;) Personally I find netball to be one of the best sports around because there is so much more than just playing sport. You train with your team and make friends for life, you can umpire which does so much for you in terms of life confidence and maturity and so much more. I know I personally play/umpire netball 6 times a week :D

I don't think it's pointless. Besides promoting teamwork, all that running up and down the court would be a great way to keep fit which is never a bad thing IMO.

Netball is a great game to play and also terrific to watch !!

As OJ said... if you're being active or interested in a sport, well, it's not pointless.

And hell... three days of cricket certainly isn't my idea of fun. Or eight hours or V8 car racing. Or even one hour of football for that matter.
