naturally I go for the queenslanders but I think that NSW will win this year...did you see the Broncos-Knights game? and those 2 team make up the bulk of both state of origin teams.

I would like to see the 3rd match at Lang park if they're tied a game a piece.

Oh yes I saw the Knights/Broncs game, no further comment, what a pack of dorks. old Joey was still smarting from his personal attack by Coach Phil "If you played for the Roosters you'd be in the reserves" (not verbatim) and the Broncs suffered at his hands/foot/brain.

One would hope that the 53,000 maroons barrackers would lift em but........ it remains to be seen, talk about psycho thriller

With thanks to The Premier of Queensland....Peter Beattie

Premier & Trade, Peter Beattie

10/06/03

Beattie and Carr agree on annual Origin flag-flying bet

Queensland Premier Peter Beattie and his Blues counterpart Bob Carr at both confident their respective State flags will be flying in each others State after this year's State of Origin series.

Premier Peter Beattie says the Maroons have an added incentive: "This year's bet will have us forced to fly the New South Wales flag at Suncorp if the unthinkable happens.

"I have every confidence Wayne, Gordon, Darren, Shane and all the team will ensure that again the Queensland flag is flying high over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

"We are doing all we can to ensure that our Stadium looks at its very best - that does not include a New South Wales flag being flown there!

"That aside I want to wish the Maroons every good fortune in the series.

"They are a great side - with a great coach and now they have the best football Stadium in the world to call home.

"I again urge those attending tomorrow night's historic match to use public transport.

"I - and all my ministers - will be either using public transport or walking."

"Go the Maroons ... come on the mighty Queenslanders."

Yeh I caught it a few times after seeing your post - they're fantastic! What a clever way to cross promote the footy & T3....impressed that thy got Arnie onboard - why don't they do that type of thing to promote league? I mean their current ad campaign is wimpy sentimental rubbish - bring on the celebs!!! :) :P

So how did Vic go in the state of origin? hehe jk.
Ive seen the arnie ads too, they are unreal. I guess they had to get arnie in to the do the ads cos they probably looked through all the highlights tapes of rugby matches and realised how bloody boring the game was. hehe jk.
Great ads those arnie ones.

one of the reasons i dont follow the game is because i dont understand something...

there is rugby, rugby union, rugby legue, state of origin, and other words/things that when i look, they all seem linked or the same, but people tell me they are different... and are insulted to be linked to the other - what the!! - one is "better" than the other?

can someone clarify the differences please... the way i see it; it is the same game with different rules (which seems silly to me)

I did watch the first 10 minutes last night, and i got a handle on the game/rules... its too dangerous for me, all the high tackling seems a little wrong, yet the referee didnt call a thing. too much brain damage involved...

yet being the competitive sports guy i am (as im sure syl can confirm from the one game of basketball i played with him) i watched a bit more of it later...

[size=18:79c917d47e][b:79c917d47e]its sport... i luv it... cant get enough of the stuff...[/b:79c917d47e][/size:79c917d47e]
Duffman can never die, only the actors who play him.
