Just thought I'd start a thread for one of my favourite newer bands :) Anyone else into these guys? I first saw them at Big Day Out '04 in Perth, and at that time had never heard them before, although later realised I knew the track Muscle Museum. Within a week I owned all of their albums :D

I've also been trying to teach myself how to play Stockholm Syndrome and Citizen Erased on the guitar. Problem is that so much of the sound is from different guitar effects that I'm going to have to get a better effects pedal. :)

Absolution is one of the greatest albums I own, and I own a lot. Usually I have to listen to an album 4 or 5 times before it earns my respect but it only took 1 listen with Muse. *Respect!*

"Butterflies and Hurricanes" would have to be my favourite song, but I bought it because of the "Time is running out" single which got a fair bit of airplay on 3MMM.

Agree re B&H ... Stockholm Syndrome is mine, followed by that and TSP. It's all good though, and very playable!

Also like Citizen Erased and Feeling Good off '[i:5e9e446a80]Origin of Symmetry[/i:5e9e446a80]'.

I love these guys - but missed them when they toured last. WILL NOT BE MISSING THEM NEXT TIME>

Absolution has to be one of the best albums I've ever heard, and like Otis says, it is a one listen masterpiece. It's hard to single tracks out because it's such a heaving, brilliant musical fabric and I never listen to single tracks off it - it's always completely the way through, and in song order.

Travs if you ever master Stockholm Syndrome I will grant you an audience! Major kudos to you.

With the exception of the little lead section 3/4 way through, I can play the entire song and sing it. :) I can physically play the lead section but always seem to mess up!

Also discovered Manic Street Preachers' "A Design For Life" has some similarities in playing style quite by accident.

Citizen Erased isn't supposed to be playable in normal tuning, but I figured out a way to do it :P Whenever I get my computer back next week I'll try and record both and dump them online somewhere as an MP3 so you can hear.

Thanks! That would be great!

I saw the Manics at BDO 2000 - awesome live. A Design for Life is a brilliant song...

Cannot wait for Black Holes and Revelations. :)

I was disappointed at first with [i:263262a184]Supermassive Black Hole[/i:263262a184], but have warmed to it on repeat listening. The other song from their new album that I've heard, though- [i:263262a184]Knights of Cydonia[/i:263262a184]- is as good, if not better, than anything they've ever done. Seriously. :)

In my humble opinion of course.

I rank Muse albums thusly:

1: Origin of Symmetry- flawless
2: Showbiz- brilliant
3: Absolution- very good

Got high expectations for BH&R! :D
