When is somebody going to grab these books and turn them into a Television series or a Movie? They would make fantastic visual entertainment and bring a bunch of laughs along for the ride as well.

AAP reported in 2004 that a movie adaptation of Barrett's first book You Wouldn't Be Dead For Quids was to be made. Rugby league player Matthew Johns was slated to star in the movie, however an actor for the lead role of Norton's character had not been found.

Looks like they tried

Yep Admiral.
There was also an attempt to turn one of his non Les Norton books titled Davos Little Something into a movie too, but so far nothing. Somebody that is into movie making should grab these and run with them.

Aww that's a shame. The 2 books I've written have been compared to his - although both unpublished but both in book form from a friend who's a printer.

Can both be read at TWCS.com.au
Search authors for Jayel and they are there under original fiction.

I think the comparison comes from the fact I've written my books as local and current.

Aww I didn't know that RIP Robert, will miss his stories  From all the stuff you read about him he seemed like such a nice bloke. I went to a couple of his book signings and he was always friendly.
Shows I'm loving The Bill, Burn Notice, Supernatural.
