kerfuffle wrote:^ So you'd think . . . they gave me a dodgy download today! >=[ A section of the song keeps looping over and over for five minutes! Either their encoder stuffed up, or the record label gave them a dodgy WAV file to encode. I've sent a message to iTunes support (which took some time to do; when I clicked on Report A Problem under the song, it took me to the FAQs about song codes repeatedly), so hopefully they'll be able to rectify the situation.

:( That's so stupid when that happens. It happened to one of my songs I got from Itunes. I went to the same FAQ you went too and posted my message. I'm thankful that 24 hrs later they replied and gave me a free song of my choice. :)

They were really nice. I hope you get a reply. :)

I just got a response - I got three free songs. Pretty generous of them, considering that I got the song for free (was on my last three free songs code).
There was something about unintentional purchases, but it wasn't an unintentional purchase; I really wanted that song. =| I'll try buying it again when I get uncapped (perhaps my Internet connection is the problem), but if it stuffs up again, looks like I'll have to get the EP for $12 (which I don't mind much, seeing that I like the stuff the artist's worked on and wouldn't mind checking out more of his work), 'cause you can't get a copy anywhere else.
Edit: I've sent an e-mail back with my response saying how I would still like to purchase the song, and included a link to the song where you can stream it in full for comparison purposes. Hopefully I'll receive a reply.

I noticed that Radiohead's full back catalogue has just been added to Itunes, which is cool, previously they were not on itunes(except for a few tracks), but now you can download full albums like Ok Computer and Kid A. :)

Got a response to my e-mail - iTunes support staff got the same result as I did. Dang. Looks like I'll have to get the EP on CD.
Kudos to their support staff for helping me out and listening to five and a half minutes of a looped sound on different computers!

I think the aus store is ok as well.

BUt a few problems - the ricky gervais podcasts were so late coming to the store for some reason

AND

it was frustrating watching american idol this year because they kept saying their trakcs were available to download at the store and I would get all excited but then rememeber we here in aus. wouldn't be able to get them.

Yeah me too! Just updated it an hour or so ago. Not much change to the library interface but what they have changed I like.

I also love how they now include the top 200 songs rather than the just the top 100 on the iTunes store.

As a side note, good to see Bon Jovi's new song crack the top 100

Is it possible to copy MP3 files purchased from iTunes onto a CD that can then be played in a CD player?

It's just that my mum's interested in one Paul Simon song, and dad's interested in that song Great Southern Land by Icehouse and I thought it'd be easier to buy the individual songs on iTunes rather than go looking for CDs at JB Hi-Fi which would contain lots of extra songs that the parents aren't interested in.

Also, buying one song would be cheaper than a whole CD of songs.

But the problem is that my folks are old fashioned and don't have iPods or any MP3 players and barely understand how this new technology works.
They prefer CDs and CD players and still own all their old records. Plus several cassettes. So buying the songs in MP3 format will be no use unless they can be copied/transferred to CD.

I don't know if I might need certain software?

Ziva: "I'm braless"
Tony: "I noticed that earlier. But on your phone, they're called 'bars'"

Nero or CyberDVD is likely to be your friend - I've been making CDs out of MP3s for about 14 years now :) You simply specify when you start the program that you want to make an audio CD, and then put on the tracks you wish to be on there.
